What aboutSo dumb.
Who helps the team more..
Micah Parsons or Payton
Tyler Smith or Payton
Zach Martin or Payton
Tyron Smith or Payton
You know...players on our team who are immensly more valuable then Sean Payton that were drafted in the 1st round. No way. Dude is the most overrated coach of our time.
Thanks for saving me the typing. What about
Taco Charlton or Sean Payton?
Byron Jones or Sean Payton?
Morris Claiborne or Sean Payton?
Leighton Vander Esch or Sean Payton?
It works both ways. If you want value, you have to give up value to get it
Eh, think it had more to do with the opportunity and it being fairly clear they were leaning in another direction. Save face, and finagle some more money from Jerry at the same time!Maybe. But he didn’t do it last year when opportunities were there as well.
I’m all in with Payton and FangioSign me up! Take my pick!
Sean Payton says that if he takes a head-coaching job, the team that hires him will have to give the Saints a mid-to-late first-round draft pick.
Payton told Colin Cowherd he and Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis have come to an understanding that that’s what his new team will give the Saints, if Payton takes a head-coaching job.

He wants roster control, and there's no way anyone can convince me the saints have drafted better than the Cowboys. I'd rather keep McClay and McCarthy than SP.
He walked out on the contract. They couldn’t just sit around twiddling their thumbs for a year and hired another coach. The Saints are owed compensation until the “ending year” in contract is up. That’s either through draft compensation from another team foolish enough to hire him or he could buy out the contract.I’ve wondered about that myself, but don’t know the answer for certain.
....I can also see that.Payton is going to be the most overrated and overpaid HC in the NFL.
Could be.Eh, think it had more to do with the opportunity and it being fairly clear they were leaning in another direction. Save face, and finagle some more money from Jerry at the same time!
Seems there are a whole lot of teams “foolish enough” right now.He walked out on the contract. They couldn’t just sit around twiddling their thumbs for a year and hired another coach. I haven’t seen anyone drop a 1st round pick on him yet!!! Before it’s said and done I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned into a 2nd along with a 3rd/4th next year and cash.Seems there are a whole lot of teams “foolish enough” right now.
We’ll see.
I’ve been wrong once or twice before.
But I’m seeing a house of cards collapsing here. And Quinn is looking for the exit and his own career advancement, which makes McCarthy much less appealing win or lose.
I predict a loss which I think seals his fate. And Payton just publicly announced the asking price to get him (and Fangio as defensive coordinator).
I think even Jerry can see Payton/Fangio is far better than McCarthy/?
Leighton yea. Byron yes. I'll gladly take a 80 % chance that the Cowboys will draft a player more important then a Jag coachWhat about

Even if that player would only be a Cowboy for 4-6 uneventful years where the coach may lead the franchise for a decade+?Leighton yea. Byron yes. I'll gladly take a 80 % chance that the Cowboys will draft a player more important then a Jag coach
If it isn't Andy Reid or Bill Belichick they aren't worth anything more then money that Jerry pays them. No way in hell do I trade the chance at another Micah Parsons for a Jag head coach that struggled to win with a Hall of Fame QB.Even if that player would only be a Cowboy for 4-6 uneventful years where the coach may lead the franchise for a decade+?
Who has Payton found at QB? Saints STILL haven't found a replacement for Brees.Looking backward, yeah their records are similar, but when it comes time to find the next QB, I’d rather it be Payton than Mike that leads that effort.
Still I’m not giving up a first for him, but I don’t think that’ll end up being the cost.
If no one is offering that, they can’t not pay him, not offer to bring him back, and prevent him from working elsewhere because they want compensation above and beyond his value.
