He needs to limit his turnovers but otherwise he has been an extremely productive quarterback. It seems pretty obvious to me that defensive coordinators have figured out how to disguise coverages and bait bad throws. This type of stuff is normal progression of the NFL. The issue is they couldn't fix it all season. You're not fixing a quarterback that has reached his limits......
The guy doesnt read the LBs. And on a regular basis.
If you want to pretend that Dak is deficient or some nonsense then fine. I'd like to think that it's possible to find a way to limit the turnovers and still be productive.
I’ve seen this one making the rounds:
If that’s true, I can’t help but to think it’s all about the Cowboys job for him.
If it’s not opening this year, he’ll go back to television until next year.
I don’t rule out the Chargers. But keep in mind that Payton is in LA because he works there. That's because you're trying to speak it into existence.
The available jobs - especially Denver and Arizona - are not great options. You're stuck with a big QB contract for a guy who is either declining or has limitations. The latter is actually pretty similar to the Dallas job.
Payton is currently living in LA and working for Fox. The ideal job is the Chargers with Herbert on a rookie contract. The Chargers are fools for not making it happen.
From what’s been reported, teams were told the terms ahead of being given permission to interview him. So if it was too high to begin with, why did they interview him at all?Nobody want's to give up a 1st Rd+ pick....move on nothing to see here until (possibly) when he's out of contract.
I'm sure he would have a market if a first rounder wasn't needed to acquire him.
Due diligence, obviously nobody thinks he's worth the contract. From what’s been reported, teams were told the terms ahead of being given permission to interview him. So if it was too high to begin with, why did they interview him at all?
It's worth it if he also thinks this though, right? He isnt worth it imo. Dak is a major problem, KM play calling is 2nd.
If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have had the interview.Due diligence, obviously nobody thinks he's worth the contract.
That’s part of the appeal for me. Payton would send Moore packing and run the offense.Cowboys need that 1st round pick. Plus I think Big Mike has done a good job despite being handcuffed with Kellen Moore. Best thing we can do is hire a better OC and someone with experience grooming QB’s.
You don't groom 30-year-old quarterbacks.Cowboys need that 1st round pick. Plus I think Big Mike has done a good job despite being handcuffed with Kellen Moore. Best thing we can do is hire a better OC and someone with experience grooming QB’s.
Especially when the Eagles have the #10 pick and cap space after they play in the Super Bowl with their 2nd-round QB on his rookie deal.Id only be interested in SP if he didnt need to be traded for
Im not giving up a first round pick for a coach that isnt any more accomplished than the one we have now.
Jay Glazer actually told the truth. The Jones wanted to bring in a defensive minded HC so they could keep Moore. Glazer told them how great Mike was and they fell in love. They still wanted to keep Moore however because Dak didn’t want to learn a new offense or something to that nature. Paraphrasing here.Oh yeah? So MM came to Dallas, took one look at KM, and decided on the spot that KM was who he wanted as his OC?
Not a chance in hell....
KM was forced on MM, and anyone who believes otherwise is going through life with blinders on. There's a reason why MM won't help KM with the offense, and hopefully some day we will get to hear the truth.
I have mentioned this before but Payton has a great relationship with Jerry and the Jones family. He also lives in the Dallas area. Jones did everything he could to keep Sean here instead of taking the NO job. The FO knew that they let one get away but Big Bill was our HC at the time. 2006.I dont see him going anywhere that doesn't have an established franchise QB he thinks he can work with. Plus that first round pick probably throws most teams off
He was and never will come to Dallas. He would have to wrestle control from Jerrys cold dead fingers first
