I guess your trying to call me a nerd or something. If you want to be a maroon and attack posters personally I hope you enjoy your banning.

I would reduce myself to the monosyllables that you are used to but Id rather not lower myself. We here at The Zone arent intimidated by intelligent thought.

I did not attack you personally...contraire I believe you attacked me.

I simply stated on my 60" HDTV I saw now spit.

A factual statement which you used to insult. Intelligent thought I wish you provided.

Oh yeah..

I have a 61" Higher Def TV.

And I could see a huge glob of spit.

Guess that extra inch makes all the difference.

Enjoy your TV the next few weeks as the Boys and their fans watch the Skins advance to and win the NFC championship game!

I agree, no spit. Anyone who says otherwise is a big fat liar!

the Ref was right there- and since this IS Mr Gangsta Thug himself, its not hard to make the connection. Its just a matter of time before he puts himself in jail or out of the league, or both.

Why are all these homer Commanders fans here? Hopefully they'll be all gone when Alexander and Hasselbeck blow them up for 40 pts while Brunell and Portis' crew can only accumulate 3 total offensive yards...

Bengals claim Taylor spit on Houshmandzadeh
Tuesday, November 16, 2004 11:23 AM CST

CINCINNATI (AP) - Coach Marvin Lewis said one of his Cincinnati Bengals was spit on during a 17-10 victory in Washington, and he hopes the NFL does something to crack down.

Receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh confronted Commanders safety Sean Taylor at the end of the game Sunday, but declined to say why.

''It had nothing to do with physical contact,'' Houshmandzadeh said afterward. ''He's a punk.''

Lewis said Monday that one of his players - he wouldn't confirm it was Houshmandzadeh - got spit on. The receiver wasn't available for comment.

''We had a player spit on yesterday, and that's not right,'' Lewis said. ''It's something that's been escalating from certain players. Hopefully the league will do something to cut it out.''

Joe Gibbs, at his news conference Monday, was asked about Lewis' comments.

''I wasn't aware of that until you just mentioned it,'' Gibbs said.

Taylor refused to comment. He hasn't spoken to the media since he was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Oct. 28.

I havent actually reviewed the footage brah. I just go by what is said but if the refs view was obstructed and no actual spittle was seen then Im inclined to think its possible that Taylors well deserrved rep turned and bit him right in the arse.
reading the name brah just doesn't have the same meaning as hearing it for some reason.

Read the thread. Figure it out. Ill put the train of resposes out so you can understand. Really looking back on it you attacked someone who was supporting your point, myself. Calls into question severely what your intentions are.

You said youi looked at your TV and saw no spit.
Az mocked your post saying he had a bigger TV
I respond to him saying that your case was compelling.
You quote my post and put up the geek smilie.

I then stated you might be more comfortable with small words.

Can you figure out in all that where you went wrong?

Well then here's one more thing for you to consider.

The most telling thing for me is that after getting tossed from the game Taylor meekly walked off the field. He went to the bench and stewed in silence. There was no argument at all. Not one.

Young guy in his first playoff game ever and he gets tossed for doing nothing but getting hit in the face (alledgedly) and he meekly accepts that? The same guy chasing around people with guns in the offseason?

No chance.

Skins fans love him, Dallas fans despise him. What more could we ask for :)

I don't despise him at all. He's just another good player in a league full of them. He's a good safety, but there are plenty of better athletes... just not a whole lot of them at the safety position.

Steve Smith, TO, Mike Vick, Terence Newman, L. Tomlinson.... I could go on. There are tons of guys who are much more athletically gifted than Taylor. Just most aren't safeties. He wasn't even the best athlete in the Miami backfield... that would have been Rolle. Frankly, I don't see what all of the fuss is about.

He did return a fumble for a TD yesterday... again, not that big a deal. Roy has scored a number of TD's... and delivered many bigger hits than Taylor.

Skins fans are just jumping on his jock just like they did Lavar when he came to town. Reputation over production. You shouldn't let your love for the Skins skew your view of reality... Taylor hasn't done that much.

Sorry but having a humongous television with excellent resolution does make a compelling case for him saying that he saw no spittle.

Mockery does not mitigate that.

Im sorry if your 14" B and W make you feel inadequate.

...and you would know ALL ABOUT feeling inadequate.

now, im not saying that taylor did or did not spit, because none of us will probably ever know that for sure, but this is what I do know.

1) the ref didn't actually get over to see what was going on untill the moment were pittman was throwing the punch. This would indicate that he would be throwing the flag not by what he saw, but by what pittman accused verbally of Taylor.

2) last time i checked, people dont spit by jerking thier head backwards. and that is what taylor did. he slightly moved his head backward, right before the punch was thrown.

but, you cant tell, because all of the video angles that are shown don't show any sign of spit, so no one can be 100% sure that he actually did spit.

plus, even if some spit did hit pittman, it could have been a bill cowher insident, were spit accidently. and since they were jawing at it pretty well, that doesn't seem like it would be impossible.

I didnt catch spitgate i was driving to meet up with my gfriend to install her dryer. I was listening to the radio and when he got ejected they cut to commercial and when they got back a few mins later they said Taylor was finally being physically escorted from the field.

I could easily think the refs assumed he was guilty with little proof but im not like these trolls here and think he got jobbed. You reap what you sow and Taylor has been in trouble on and off the field since he came out of Miami.

As long as he continues his antics this kind of thing will repeat with good reason. If you dont think the image crazed league doesnt have a bullseye on Taylors back youre crazy. If I was Tagliabue Id tell the refs to have a zero tolerance policy lest he start toting guns in stadiums ala the Last Boyscout. One of the worst movies in the history of cinema BTW.

Sarge looking over your 6k posts i still say that you lack even the remotest ability of individual thought. Even in this case you try and use my words.

Remember the Looney Toons cartoon with the big dog and the little dog and the black panther? The one where the little dog follows the big dog and hops around being the parroting sycophant attempting to get the big dog to attack the panther?

Youre the little dog.

Honestly, nope I didn't, and unfortunately I didn't record the game so I can't go back and look.

BUt it looked to me like Pittman briefly wiped at his faskmask before he reaches out and clocks Taylor.

And every other piece of evidence *other* than actually seeing spit points to it happening.

Its too much of a leap of logic for me that a ref just decides to take another players word for it, or arbitrarily decides that Taylor must have spit on him based on his reputation. And then a guy with Taylor's rep simply walks off the field after what would be one of the worst calls ever if he had not spit.

I agree with the rest of what you are saying - especially after this incident I doubt Taylor will ever get the benefit of the doubt on anything. BUt even with some of the terrible reffing we've seen ejecting Taylor in that case without seeing him spit would be way beyond that.

ALso, the ref was standing just to the side of the two players and looking right at Taylor when it happened. He had a good view of it.
