No it’s being a glass half full type person vs being a half glass empty person like you. Now tell me, which is the better attitude?

I’m a realist; I recognize the water is at the midway point of the glass.

You see the same glass and choose to believe the glass is full through “the power of positive thinking.”

Which one is living in an altered reality?

No it doesn’t.

The season comes down to the team playing good football down the stretch. If we want to make a playoff run we also need more talented teams (Phi, SF) slipping.

My biggest concerns in the playoffs are pass protection, WR play and run defense. If we end up losing I have a strong feeling one or all of those will be the primary reason. Dak can’t win or lose in the playoffs by himself.

I agree Eli was very good in those playoff runs. He also had Hall of Fame defenses those 2 years. They carried those Giants teams. I may be crazy but I believe Eli also has ZERO playoff wins in 13 of his 15 seasons in the NFL. All his wins in his playoff career came in 2 yrs.
That 2007 d-line was fearsome for sure. I don't have a clear recollection of the 2011 d but they were pretty bad in ppg (25th). And your right all his playoff wins came those 2 years. My point is to call him average is nonsensical given his achievements. He was up and down, streaky, had poor stretches and even poor years, but he cashed it in not once but twice.

Huh? There are a bunch. Eli, Flacco, Grossman, Foles, Ryan, Newton, Kapernick, Goff. Hades, Bortles was kept out of the super bowl by some horribly suspicious calls.
For that matter, pretty much all of those guys were not average outside of Grossman. Flacco is criminally underrated around here by the more sensitive posters. Look at his playoff record - the guy was nails under pressure. Grossman sucked. Foles was capable of playing at an elite level UNDER PRESSURE and did so to win a super bowl. That's all that matters, plus anyone that throws 27/2 TD/Int is not average, and his lifetime ratio is great. If you think Ryan was an average QB, that's such a low information opinion i won't comment. Newton same thing, he's borderline going in the hall of fame. Kapernick - debatable, but he was much better than some give him credit for. Look at his numbers - there's no way he was average. Goff - debatable, but he's probably better than you think.

Some of those guys were above average during their Superbowl runs.

Dak is not Mahomes or Brady but there have been plenty of average or below average quarterbacks lead a team to the big dance, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jeff Hostetler, even Joe Namath in the big picture wasn't considered great and there are 1/2 dozen others who weren't as good as Dak or Romo for that matter numbers wise. This team has all the ingredients to make a serious run if we play to our strengths and do not make mistakes/turnovers, Jerry was right to call out Dak, he has 9 INt's in 8 games this year, he only had 10 in 16 games in 2021, we need Dak to not force the ball, play smarter take a loss or run for 4 yards and slide but don't force the ball into coverage, you don't find that open guy throw it away. Our offensive strength this year is our running game by far, control the line of scrimmage the pass will be there at some point, we seem to be doing better on the penalty's, we have a top 3 defense and a very good special teams' unit, we have play makers everywhere you look and we have a top 6 or 7 QB "IMO" who just needs to manage the game and not make mistakes.

No, and as a Romosapian heck no. Stop the run, limit unnecessary penalties, and pray Kellen doesn't get cute at the wrong time. Also Dak needs to play good football.

Overall, the team needs to play sound foorball. Dak is just a part of it. He's not ignored in the blame, but good grief he's a part of a team. Unless he lays an absolute egg, I will not put it on his shoulders.

All losers say they are the realists :lmao:
It really doesn't matter half full half empty at the midpoint. Not every glass is the same size and holds the same amount of water.

What's really important is is there enough water to sustain you in the glass.

In other words is Dak a good enough quarterback to get us where we need to go and that is the Super bowl.
I will go on record as saying if Dak uses all his skills he is more than enough quarterback to take us to the promised Land

He has the tools he can make plays with his legs He's strong his passing game has improved throughout his career he just needs to know when to implement what skill at what time to get the desired result but he has all the tools in his box to be successful.

The NFL is a place where he who hesitates is lost.
Dak needs to read Keith Codes twist of the wrist.
Motorcycles don't handle well on the brakes neither can an NFL quarterback.

When in doubt GAS IT!!!!!!

That last drive against the Texans Dak had his foot to the metal the whole way.

Eli made a few clutch throws along the way too.. but I think people grossly underestimate the value of knowing you can just punt the ball and the defense will give it right back to you in a couple minutes and how that influences the way the QB can play. As I have pointed out many times.. Brady had a top 5 defense like 15 of his 20 years in New England.. including #1 5 or 6 times. I think the worst defense he "carried" to the Super Bowl was like #4. Nobody shoot me if it was slightly higher as I am too lazy to look it up right at the moment. Flacco had an amazing playoff run the year he won it.. backed by a great defense.. Peyton Manning? Dude MIGHT have been a top 20 QB the year they won it in Denver. MAYBE.. That defense absolutely carried him. This amazing defense we have this year is new territory for Dak and frankly I don't think he nor Moore quite knows how to handle it. For most of the last 4 years if this team wasn't scoring 30 it wasn't winning. They need to figure it out before the playoffs get here.

100%. He also did play better than I gave him credit for in the playoffs but I remember him being average during the season.

But again, their front 4 made their team.

Is it so shocking that the season comes down to the QB? I don't think so! This is not a thread-worthy topic, IMO.

Troy Aikman was very average, and tops almost all expert analysts "why is he in the HOF" discussion. He played for great teams is why, same as Terry Bradshaw. If Troy Aikman and Terry had played for the Cleveland Browns during their years, neither would be in the HOF, and would be a trivia question.

If we dont win the SB, Dak will have alot to do with it, but so will our 23rd ranked run defense, dropped passes, pass protection, among other things.

Dak can’t throw picks when we are within the opposition’s end zone and he can’t throw picks when we are on our own 10 yard line. Need to be careful with that ball and don’t force anything. I don’t know if he is capable of doing any of that. He will be going up against tough defenses.
