I think there is a combination of things that cut Zeke's career short -Work ethic would be one but the main one was that Zeke would seek out contact rather than trying to avoid it. Someone said he did it to himself by holding out. Well if he did that to himself, they he did really well for himself because he got his money while the getting was good - the market collapsed after Zeke and Gurley got there deals. He would have to play 3 more years at a high level to get what he got in todays market.

I always felt sorry for what Goodell did to Zeke. He cost him millions in endorsement deals.
We played him injured. See saquan barkley. Sitting yet again? Thats is career preservation.

We made hime block for pourous injured o line. What other premier back did it that much? Emmitt would put a shoulder down but not that much. They made sure he didnt have to.

That's because it's a ding on the starting qb. Common sense and football knowledge is not his strong point. Getting a rise out of CZ posters is his aim and he's quite good at it.
Oh I know. I just wanted to see if he'd admit it. I mean it's clear he's an Eagles fan. You deal with enough of them you start to be able to point them out. People get upset when I call people on this site Eagles fans but there are certain posters who possess the traits of Eagles fans who come on this site pretending to be Cowboy fans to rile this place up.

Just saw the sounds from the sidelines yt video. Seeing him in another uniform sux, I didn't like it almost as much as I didn't like seeing Emmitt and Allen in different uniforms. Elliot like Emmitt left it all on the field for this team. Too bad Elliot didn't have Emmitt work ethic in the offseason. If only he had put in the extra work, he'd probably still be a cowboy.
why? I never really cared much for him and didn't like us drafting him. giving a RB a second contract is always a mistake, specially one that's largest in history of NFL

Emmitt was one of the best in pass protection!

I mean you had an issue with him before even drafting him so you wouldn't care when he finally left. There's a part of this fanbase that felt this way. I never cared where he was drafted. Or that we gave him a second contract. The fact is, 2016 was special. And the run was special. I remember when RGIII and Alfred Morris did it as well. It's just a special moments and some of you guys have been fans for far longer than me so this type of moment may have meant nothing. But watching Dak and Zeke grow together it was special and it hasn't resulted in a ring but this team has been rather good since drafting Zeke. It's the end of the era. Or was the end of an era. Sad that more didn't come from it.

It was the accusations though that did him in right? He missed out on a lot of endorsement deals thats for sure.

I just felt like the RB shelf life is already short. Yeah guys like Fred Taylor, Gore and AP lasted awhile but that does not seem to be the face and we're seeing it now with guys like Cook, Kamara and Henry. Kamara is a workout BEAST.
I don't think the accusations did him in. I think it was the assumed/ implied guilt by Goodell giving him 6 games suspension when his own investigator told him there was nothing there. Once all is said and done, I still think he has a civil case against Goodell for libel and slander - I am not a lawyer so maybe a legal case is not there but Goodell cost him a ton of money with that suspension.

Yeah but there was a young woman that accused of him abuse. That's all it takes. Kobe's endorsements and Tiger Woods endorsements were gone soon as the accusations came out. Then when things died down they came crawling back.

I don't even think twice about him not being here.

Overpaid player at a position that requires more financial restraint. And while, yes, Jerry gave him that contract, recall that Zeke forced the issue by holding out. So thanks for the good things you did Zeke while here but I honestly don't really miss him at all.

When they did that contract zeke was a 2-time rushing champ and would have been three in a row if not for Jerry's feud with Goodell.

Not sure you just throw that away as a JAG. But don;t blame zeke for it. Jerry should have sat him out then.

Then we ruined him.

Also recall that Jerry was feuding with Goodell in an NFL power struggle.

Goodell showed him who the real boss was....thanks to one or two other owners.

"Oh building a champion team now is ya? The current NFL rushing champion gonna sit almost half the season,".

Despite dropped charges, lying "victim" by testimony of friends, and Goodell's own FEMALE investigator. That is some serious BS right there.

I don’t think it has anything to do with his work ethic
