This is something that always concerns me about off season weigh ins and such. Is the weight a realistic mark for him to maintain or is just a weight they are able to get to temporarily because that's what everyone wants to see?

That's the internal debate every team will have and there's really nothing but guess work behind it because some players can carry it and some can't.

Hackenburg underwhelmed under multiple coaches.
He just isn't very good in games.
Looks great in drills.

He played well under O'Brien and his troubles began when Franklin took over. What other coaches did he underwhelm with?

My fear is that if the Cowboys add a Free Agent QB and they pass on the top 3 Qb's, they will add a QB in the later rounds similar to the McGee type of pick and waste said pick.

No. he didn't. PSU went 7-5 and Hackenburg was severely underwhelming with 10INTs a lack of pocket awareness and just general mediocre play. PSU ranked 69th in scoring. He never looked anything like a 5 star recruit. But he was young so the chance to improve was there. It just didn't happen.

CH never made it on to any lists of passing leaders in any area. He was never a standout. He was rather mid Big 10 guy.
