Serious Question: Is Dak better now than Romo in his prime?

Absolutely not. The team from 2006-2010 was really good. 2007 was the best team weve had since 1996. But dak beats romo in the w-l column and every stat lol. So how is he not better? He also didnt run a hall of fame wr out of town like romo did with T.O.

Dak and Romo are separated by 1% point in career winning percentage. If you want to pound your chest about that then by all means.....

Romo and Dak both have better stats and W/L record (team stat) than Aikman.

So, according to your logic they both have to be better than Aikman, right?

Hard to say im a believer you cant really compare eras. But romo and dak were close enough you can compare. I think aikman was the most accurate and had the most arm talent out of all of them. But the game wasnt played the way it is now then. Same with Staubach. They found ways to win games and were great leaders. Romo was not a good leader.

I agree, it's really not an accurate comparison. I think some fans are just using hindsight to point out past QBs success as a point to trash another player.

Unfortunately by the time Romo got really really good his body was shot. But when he was healthy his last 3 years he was better than Dak.

I think that is accurate and fair

Why do you dislike aikman and staubach so much? Aikman was a top 5 qb in his era against his peers so was staubach. Dak is a top 8-10 qb. Romo was never considered a top 10 qb ever. Was never even thought about in the convo. Except for maybe once in 2014 after 10 years in the nfl. Then plummeted back down to earth and then got replaced by a better qb.

Actually when i saw dak in preseason i told everyone if romo gets hurt hes gonna lose his job. I really liked dak coming out i thought he was a end of 1st early 2nd round talent.

Okay, but you didn't answer my question:

I'm not asking if they could have won on those teams. Do you believe they are flat out better? Because their stats would say so, right?

I know everyone likes to think the old-timers are always better than the newer players. It is natural. You want to believe the guys you watched growing up thinking they were larger than life just can't be bested by today's players.

In many cases, that is true. Randy White/Bob Lilly/Bob Hayes- Those guys have no peers on the modern cowboys, IMO.

Comparing these Qbs is more difficult. It just sounds stupid to say "Romo with 0 Super Bowls is better than Aikman (3 Super Bowls/HOF)". So I am not going to say that.

I believe my statement about Dak and Romo winning Super Bowls on those teams says it all. I also think Troy on their teams has a likely less result.

No!!! When you have players in different eras you have to see how they stack against their peers in their era. Its the same way i judge every sport. Read my posts, i know its hard with southern education but please read slowly.

I don't think they were better but I also think the when Rodger played it was different game. I would also add those Doomdays Defense played a big part in the overall success of the Cowboys. Same for Troy. Troy was not concerned with stats he was concerned with winning and put up some of his best stat games in playoffs games but again he had a complete team a dominating defense to go along with an outstanding offense.

I mean from youth camps to strength and conditioning programs. I mean my sons high school practices are taped and able to be reviewed in less than an hour. Playbooks all on apps that can be accessed on your phones. Same with all the other sports. The technology and knowledge into medicine, workouts, analytics has changed the game drastically from just 20 years ago.
