Excellent point.

Although I'm saying this from my older self and not my 22-year-old self, I would document EVERYTHING in my relationships, constantly getting affirmation from any girl I'm with that they are having a good time and everything is fully consensual. Even to the point of installing cameras in my house in every room under the guise of both security and to protect me from anything false. I think it would also remind me that I have to be responsible,

You wanna hang with a superstar - fine you play by my rules.

I'm convinced - the now me would do it.

I would take a page or two from the Derick Jeter Handbook!!!!!!!!!

The video doesn't show where she was pulling down her own top again and again or where she claims she gave Zeke consent.... still stupid and a bad look...but I don't see conduct detrimental to the league here...
Investigation lasting over a year and feeding gossip journalist like Adam S. ammo to keep negatives in the press are very detrimental to the league though. The owners should wake up and oust this guy.
I heard that there was more to the story than what TMZ presented, but that fact remains they got him dead to rights doing it. It's one thing for the girl to drop her top and quite another for him to reach over and do it. And as has been indicated several times by various NFL personnel, football players are actually held to a higher standard because they are considered role models.

Now before you blow up on me, I honestly don't think they should be considered role models, but it is what it is.

As much as it pains me to do so, I beg to differ. When it comes to the "conduct unbecoming of an NFL employee" clause, they could easily take two games away from him and I'd guess little backlash would result.

That said, I'm at work so I can't watch Shannon's video and am not aware of the reasons why not. But the NFL has suspended players for less than the collection of issues Zeke has been involved in.

I wouldn't like it, but I'd understand and hope and pray he learns from it.
But, for what? There's just not enough there.

If this is the barometer for "conduct detrimental", then Dez should have already been suspended long ago. Same for about 250 other players.

There's just not anything here to suspend him over. Yet.

I can't figure out any reason why would they suspend Zeke and for what? He has done nothing wrong and all this silly witch hunt is doing is making Jerry and the Cowboys aware that evil forces such as Roger Goddell is out to get them and that they are conspiring against the Cowboys.

Just so you know, I really, really hope so. We will absolutely need him against the Giants and Broncos. All I'm saying is I would not be all that surprised if a suspension happened.

trying to use that incident to justify anything is beyond stupid.

What is it that I'm trying to justify? You do realize I don't want him to be suspended right? That's the last thing I want. All I'm saying is I would not be surprised by it.

That is why I think it will not come into play; the NFL is NOT THAT STUPID.

Wow. This is still going on?

This is the classic definition of a witch hunt. No one cares about what Zeke did, because he didn't do it.

The owners claim in public to be high on Roger. But one would have to wonder how the owners feel about Roger getting booed by every fan base in the country. When the fan base is lined up against him as strongly as they are you have to feel uneasy about that at least a little.

The owners are making huge money and under Goodell the league has made even more than before. So that buys him slack with them. Plus the intentions of Goodell and these suspensions are good for the league. He has just blown a few to avoid the Ray Rice, and Josh Brown PR nightmare. You have to wonder with ratings dropping last year for everyone but the Cowboys how much longer Goodell has before the owners point the finger at him. There is always a fall guy when money starts disappearing. Jerry and the Cowboys carried this league last year in ratings.
The owners get a front man to take the blame. Many fans think roger is the one who has changed rules an in the eyes of many, hurt the game. The reality is the owners pass every rule change. Ratings could be his downfall if they continue to drop but I don't expect that. Best solution to ratings drop is the NFL streaming games. Many young people stream all their tv
The owners really like having a front man to take the heat an do their bidding

I posted before I read your comment and you're dead on, collectively the owners like Goodell because he takes the heat for every misstep the NFL makes. The owners are RG's boss and his job is to take the heat.....I actually saw somewhere that an online poster thought RG was somehow the boss of all the owners in the NFL and ran the show....what a clueless buffoon ...

In an odd way, I like this suspension possibility hanging over Zeke's head. Might help keep him somewhat in line.

He's a suspension waiting to happen.
Yeah, I think you are right. Somewhere along the process, he missed the bus when the lesson was being given regarding personal responsibility. I know my mother would have slapped me up the side of my head had I pulled similar stunts. I don't know if Zeke had a father figure in his life, but he didn't pull this crap in college, that I'm aware of.

Hopefully Bryant can set this kid on the right track. I understand Dez has worked with him.

If Zeke was suspended over this, then 50% of the NFL could be suspended over similar stuff.

And it would open up the blackmail market against players ten-fold.

Zeke's been an ornery child this past year, but he hasn't done anything suspension worthy yet. Period.

You should have to wear this as your sig for the rest of your posting days.

"This could suddenly be a much longer suspension. I was all for drafting Elliott, but this is starting to look like a bad mistake with the No. 4 pick."

Stop what exactly?
Acting like a shrinking violet like the rest of them....... what was done was nothing..... it was a Mardi Gras type parade.....it happens all the time so stop acting like it is a big deal worthy of discussing let alone suspending him for........ just like speeding isn't a suspendable offense

IMO it is past time for Jerry and the other owners to raise that pimp hand and smack the crap out of Goodell.

Dream on. The owners are paying him $34 million a year and the NFL took in $13 billion in 2016. They're more than pleased with his performance.
