Shockey to Saints for 2nd and 5th rd picks *Merge*

The Giants have reportedly agreed to trade Jeremy Shockey to the Saints in exchange for second- and fifth-round picks.

Shockey's also going to be an UFA after this season as well.

What are the chances of the Giants, or even the Saints for that matter, of giving him a long-term, lucrative deal to HIS tastes?

I guess I'm the only one who thinks the Giants got the better end of the deal. Shockey cannot block and he seems to cry about it whenever asked to do so. There is no denying his receiving talent, but make no mistake about it.....Jeremy Shockey is overrated and is not worth the headaches he brings at this point.

People always want to look at offensive stats and ignore things like blocking, being a team player, not being a distraction, etc.

And I don't know why, but I just have a hunch Shockey will have trouble staying healthy the next few years. He is a blown-up WR, after all.

I would like to think with our Additions in the Secondary we are in much better shape to play the Saints.

We also got one corner wisely in the draft(Jenkins, instead of getting that overrated WR Jackson), and got another in a bargain basement deal(Pacman). I'm glad we didn't break the bank on a system guy like Asante.

Do you realize N.O. picked up Jonathon Vilma, Sedrick Ellis, Bobby McCray, Randall Gay, and Tracy Porter. All these players will greatly help the defense.

I expect the Saints to win that division this year and I do think they've improved their Defense.
