Should Dak get a raise in pay this year or next?

We can't give him a a raise due to the CBA. Dak can get a loan (dumb move), he can sign merchandise deals, and he should take out an injury insurance policy. Dak seems like a bright kid so he realizes his big payday is coming.
This thread should be closed because of this. Even if we wanted to, we can't.

ok I dont mean like 20 mil a year or even10 or 5.
I was thinking if I was the owner, I would give this kid a raise to at least 2 mil a year, and maybe to 5 a year,
then tell him to keep that in mind when he is signing 2nd contract.

It isnt right to expect him to play for 4th round salary, which is what $500,000 a year?
I dont know how much of that he would have after taxes, but it doesnt seem like enough.

The way I look at it he has done enough to earn 2 mil this year already !

So what would you do if your the owner?

Yep, lets give Zeke a raise too
How Bout 50 mill guaranteed for each?

Let's do both as soon as Dez agrees to a pay cut

First Romo has to be decided..

does he stay as the most expensive backup or does he go.?

Once it's decided..then you move on redo contracts.

If you look at the team structure..it's all about Romo Friendly.

If Romo is gone..we can afford to pursue FAs for the defense which needs help badly.

I would prefer to take DAK and keep Sanchez and let the rest of the QBs go like Kellen Moore.

You can't give Dak a raise and let's not pretend he is making minimum wage. He got a 380k signing bonus and he's making close to half a million in salary this year. I think he will be able to get by without going hungry
He knows how the league works and he makes a nice living now, knowing in the future he will get a contract that sets him up for the rest of his life

It'd be nice to win a SB or 2 why Elliot and Dak are on their rookie deals...

tightwad !! lol your a billionaire !!!!!!! money isnt a issue.
So you think it is ok for dak to make less than escobar and morris etc ??
I would do the right thing, and give him a raise to a suitable salary, dak would not forget that.
I don't think Prescott feels as entitled as u seem...

It isn't right to expect I'm to live off 500,000 a year?!?!

It's ok, because he is a 4th round pick.

All that Pizza Hut and DirectTV money Romo was making will start going to Dak.......QB1 for the Dallas Cowboys is a very lucrative position, especially for a young good looking kid

NFL players don't get as much as NBA guys, but a shoe/apparel deal should be around 50m

Definitely...but he is going to make 26m on his rookie deal......Dak is going to make 2m
Very true but over his career Dak will make the most. Zeke can float him a loan if he needs a few bucks lol
By the time Dak signs his second contract it may be 26 million a year

Would be tough to keep him at his current contract with him being the starting QB and far outplaying the contract he signed as a 4th round pick. If he wins rookie of the year and league MVP, it wouldn't be right keeping him at his current and it could cause an issue especially with him being the starter going forward. He would clearly deserve a raise over what he's making now based on his performance and now being the starting QB. You have to make some exceptions when a player far outplays their contract and earns a starting job especially at QB.

Can't make exceptions its written into the cba

while we're at it, let's go ahead and put him in the ring of honor, have a dak prescott day in all of the metroplex, get his HOF bust ready to roll and think back on all the superbowl victories he's brought us.

or we can just watch the kids career unfold and wait til we get to those times before we worry about them.

He can wait until it's time to resign him.

If he continues to play this well, I think he'll be one of the highest paid QBs of all time.

Poor kid has to find a way to live on $500,000 a year plus endorsements. What a terrible life. In all seriousness now that he is the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys I'm sure he will have plenty of endorsement deals that will make him a multi millionaire before he ever reaches his second contract

Well dak wasnt asking for more money, the way he grew up, rather poor, he probably thinks he has more than enough money
right now, probably banking most of it.

I didnt know he got a signing bonus, of 387,000 and if that was just them paying him up front to help the cap.
I know he doesnt bring home the whole $500,000 , and then compare that to what elliot is making per year 4 million !
