Two things here.
Romo dud hit Dez for the blitz beating game changing play, he dropped the ball.
Second, Dez took himself out for about 90% of that last drive we kicked the fg on....and after the game we found out it was because his back was stiff and he couldn't move well.
Romo and Dez were just not themselves in the fourth qtr, it's not a normal thing and I imagine they both play well next week.
How can I put this nicely. I'm going to try my best to be as nice as possible here. That drop, as you keep harping on, happened with 9 minutes to go in the game with us trailing 13 to 17. We had nine minutes to at least score a TD after that one drop. Are you trying to tell me that this one drop made the difference? Cause if you are, then let's go to the million mistakes Romo made in the ENTIRE game that cost us the game. Being protective of Tony when he plays bad makes his lovers come off as, well, you fill in the blanks. The very next play Romo throws the ball out of bounds, not even giving Witten a chance for the 1st down.
The bottom line is, after that drop, Tony had 6:43 seconds to put us into the end zone. He threw a pass behind Miles Austin who had to contort in order to catch the ball, should've been incomplete.
He threw an interception right to Berry, thank goodness a horrible holding call gave him the ball back. Only to turn around and throw another 2 yard pass to Witten which should've been intercepted again.
Followed by a HORRIBLE pass to Miles Austin that was way too wide. He had ZERO pressure in his face on those plays.
Next play there was an overload blitz with Dez in one on one coverage, didn't even look his way. Throws another 2 yard bail out pass to Witten which was way off.
Had Romo made any plays after that drop, we still had a chance to win. But he was absolutely horrible coming down the stretch. I won't blame him for this foolishness but throwing a screen with 16 seconds left is beyond ignorant. It's a give up play. I won't fan the flames by going through the entire game, so I'll just leave it at this.
