Should Orton fill in as starter for Dallas

How can I put this nicely. I'm going to try my best to be as nice as possible here. That drop, as you keep harping on, happened with 9 minutes to go in the game with us trailing 13 to 17. We had nine minutes to at least score a TD after that one drop. Are you trying to tell me that this one drop made the difference? Cause if you are, then let's go to the million mistakes Romo made in the ENTIRE game that cost us the game. Being protective of Tony when he plays bad makes his lovers come off as, well, you fill in the blanks. The very next play Romo throws the ball out of bounds, not even giving Witten a chance for the 1st down.

The bottom line is, after that drop, Tony had 6:43 seconds to put us into the end zone. He threw a pass behind Miles Austin who had to contort in order to catch the ball, should've been incomplete.
He threw an interception right to Berry, thank goodness a horrible holding call gave him the ball back. Only to turn around and throw another 2 yard pass to Witten which should've been intercepted again.
Followed by a HORRIBLE pass to Miles Austin that was way too wide. He had ZERO pressure in his face on those plays.
Next play there was an overload blitz with Dez in one on one coverage, didn't even look his way. Throws another 2 yard bail out pass to Witten which was way off.

Had Romo made any plays after that drop, we still had a chance to win. But he was absolutely horrible coming down the stretch. I won't blame him for this foolishness but throwing a screen with 16 seconds left is beyond ignorant. It's a give up play. I won't fan the flames by going through the entire game, so I'll just leave it at this.

Nobody else to blame anymore. Line is good. T.O., cra

There is no obvious to it Idgit "Mr. Contradiction". Almost every post you make is contradicting another poster giving the idea you know everything. Well Buddy you don't . Yes, I'm calling you out because you're bad for this forum. No one else like you throws other posters under the bus like you---STOP IT. Stop acting superior to other posters. As they say it's best to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubts. You open your mouth way to often.

This one's obvious. Tony Romo is a better player with his current injury than Kyle Orton. But, by all means, challenge my posts if you don't agree. I wouldn't use the phrase 'call me out' if I were you, but forums are *supposed* to mostly be about the exchange of ideas and about positive debate. I know I'm not everybody's favorite poster. I'd hate me, too, if I wanted nothing more than to get upset about the Dallas Cowboys.

I do have a habit of condescending when I think a post is really dumb. Though, to be clear, I didn't think the OP was a dumb post at all in this case. I was just saying that I thought it was obvious that Romo should have been in the game but that an injury is never an excuse for poor play. If you're able enough to be in the lineup, then you just can't point to an existing injury as an excuse for what happens.

On the flip side, there are a ton of smart, smart posters here, and a ton of guys whose football knowledge far exceeds mine. I try to only condescend to some of the others, and only when they're being loud and inarticulate at the same time. Not everybody can be Paul Brown on a football forum, but it's a reasonable expectation that most people be able to string together a rational thought or two if they're going to click the Post Reply button. If not, well, there are worse things in life than having somebody on the internet disagree with you.

It seems ROMO ribs are affecting his play.....I've read numerous reports that state he has to taken pain killing injections before the game just to play. I don't like the idea of playing ROMO hurt and losing.. I'd rather give Kyle ORTON a chance...and see what he can do. A healthy Orton is better than playing ROMO hurt.

ROMO needs to get healthy and take the Cowboys deep into the playoffs and he wont get healthy if he keeps getting hit. What happens when ROMO get hit in the RIBs again, what happens if his performance don't get any better....or even gets worse.. Kyle ORTON could play descent for a few games and give ROMO some time to heal. Not sure how long it takes for a RIB injury to heal but getting beat up on the 1st game of the season is gonna make a long season for ROMO. Not sure ROMO can last 14 more games with bad ribs....teams will be looking to smack him around.... At least it is time to start getting ORTON some reps in practice.

I am not going to get on your case over this post. I get what you are saying and why you are saying it. However with that I will say NO to it. I think even an injured Tony Romo gives you a better shot at winning than Orton.

I will also add that it might be said that we have the best back up QB in the league and that might be true but this past camp and preseason has shown Orton to be terrible IMO. I don't think I have heard such bad reports and seen bad play as much from a backup QB in a long time with the cowboys. I remember Brad Johnson losing his arm strength and only going with check down short routes (which would seem to be perfect for this current offense lol) but I don't know the last time we have had what most say is the best backup QB in the league have such a poor camp and preseason with accuracy and decision issues.

So with that said by answer again is...NO.
