Should the Cowboys bring back unrestriced FA Demarcus Ware?

Let's offer him a contract with a low base and some good incentives and try to bring him back home.

Exactly.......Would you have liked to have him against GB....I know I would've

He would have helped a lot...standing in street clothes on the sideline with a ruptured disk.

Or trying--hopelessly--to play as did another defensive end with a bad back...coincidentally also named Demarcus.

We could have called them Badbackus...and we would have had a pair of 'em. The Badbackuses

For some reason I think it would be the right move.

1. It bridges the 1 year gap to see what Gregory can contribute.

2. Doesn't force our hand to reach for a DE in the draft.

Allows us to select the BPA...which will probably be a CB.

Comments?
If he had been healthy for all of 2016 then I would be OK with it; however, he only played 10 games in 2016 and 11 in 2015.

For a reasonable price he could be a pass rush specialist that plays limited snaps.

At the right price, why not? If we could bring him in as a situational pass rusher on obvious passing downs, I'm all for it.

Yes! Another player to the Dallas boneyard.
Seriously?
Look to the future!

No, I love d ware, one of the greatest Cowboys imo, but he's done and I'm glad he got a ring, he doesn't want to play for the Dallas Cowboys anymore, that hurt to even write. Much love for him,but we have to move on.

We keep making desperation moves and every time it backfires.

-Let's sign a head-case abuser in Hardy...uh oops
-How about drafting a known drug addict in Gregory...ouch
-Elite but hobbled Jaylon Smith? Maybe next year

Too crazy? Too drugged? Hobbled? Old?

Enough! Let's get defenders we can count on.

We're talking about a 1-2 year contract. Who said anything about building around him? He's better than anything we have and there's a chance he takes a discount to play for us. If the money is right, it's a no-brainer. Obviously, you keep looking for a long-term solution in the meantime.

Exactly....

Plus it bridges the gap created by Gregory. I'm probably one of the few not ready to give up on the kid. I thought he showed something in the 2 games he played. But in the meantime....

LDE- T. Crawford/Lawerence
DT-draft pick/Irving
NT-Collins/McClain
RDE-Tapper/Ware

I loved what he did while in Dallas but his body, especially his back, aren't going to help his cause. If Denver lets him go, it's more than likely because they realize his time has come and gone. Playing in a physically tougher 4-3 defense than his previous 3-4 in Denver wouldn't be to his advantage, either. We'd best avoid another back casualty. I'd prefer to choose a promising youngster via the draft and never look back.

Even if we drafted Myles Garrett or signed Chandler Jones we still would need more playmakers

DWare can be that playmaker with 0 risk
0 risk?
He's not signing with anyone for vet minimum. DWare will cost millions and produce little. He is not a 4-3 DE.
