Should The Cowboys Try To Replace Terrance Williams?

No. Not at all.

#2 WR is not a big role in the Dallas offense and Williams plays that role just fine. What is a better guy gonna do? Take targets from Dez? Give Beasley less opportunity to work his slot magic?

I've changed my mind guys. We should absolutely replace him. Because body catches.

Right!

Wait, did you say body catcher or body snatcher?

I would love Crabtree opposite Dez. What do you guys think it would cost to sign Crabtree? As in how much per season?

I always thought TWill was relatively clutch... doesn't seem to drop too many passes, and gets open in the end zone, did well in the playoffs. If we come across someone better than him, sure, but I certainly wouldn't actively try to replace him right now.

Please, no. Some of you complain about Williams not getting separation (Which is ridiculous, but whatever), wait until you see Crabtree.

Like I said, it is a deep draft for a WR. It might be a wise decision to grab one considering the predicament that Dallas is in with Dez, insurance if you will.

TWill is not a #1(if Dez does leave) and a serviceable #2. That position can be upgraded yet it isn't a priority at this time.

I would like Dallas to get one for depth but mainly for KR/PR's.

There's only two WRs in the draft that are on Dez's level; one we won't even have a chance at getting, the other being Green-Beckham late in the first. That's the only replacements for Dez in this draft. If Green-Beckham is there at 27,you want to talk about a player tough to pass up? That's him.

He was a top 10-15 talent if it wasn't for his "off the field issues".

Sure tear apart all chemistry unnecessarily.

Makes sense.

No need to address the things that don't need attention this upcoming season?

"Try" as in prioritize drafting a WR higher than some other positions? Nope! We've got much more pressing issues and Williams doesn't exactly suck...

Nice punt return ability as well.

Really nice. I watch him and he has the ability to accelerate through a crease. You see RBs do this but you don't usually see WRs do this. They are either fast and just run at top speed or they are quick and shifty but don't have that acceleration. He does have it. He is fast but when he sees a sliver of daylight, he can actually accelerate through the hole. Nice hands too. 6'1" 200 lbs so he's not really small but I hear a lot of people saying that about him. I really like that kid. This is what Deion had as well. He could break on the ball very quickly and when he was returning he could turn it on when he needed to crack daylight.

Not a big fan of TWill, I rarely see any separation from him and most of his big plays are from broken ones.

I didn't read the analysis on Williams. Because it doesn't matter. My answer is the same for any player.

I like Williams, but the team can never stop trying to get better. If you stand pat, you will fall behind.

We have bigger issues than WR, but if there is a guy in the middle rounds the Cowboys really like, take him. If not, the team is fine with the guys they have.

I will leave it to you guys if Joe James Blow from Lousiana Valley Tech State of Ohio at El Paso is any good

Always good to draft a wr but twill is a good #2 and has speed. I think he will continue to get better. Still haven't seen much from street yet becuase he hasnt really played. Dallas didn't use harris enough either.

One last point.

You just franchised your #1 receiver who is a top 3 guy in the league. The Cowboys likely will sign him long term. You just re-signed you #3 guy. You can't keep everybody.

So I say you have to let Williams go when his rookie contract is up and you replace him with another rookie contract. Whether that's Devon Street or another guy is up to Garrett, et al. That's how you keep your salary cap under control.

I mostly agree with your post but It think the difference in TWill, Street (who I love) and even Harris is the ability to impact the return game. None of those guys can do that the way you would like. If we are going to take a WR, I would like it to be a guy who can actually play a nice roll in the offense and be able to improve your return game.
