Should the Dallas Cowboys trade Zack Martin before the trade deadline?

This is a lost season and he will retire after this year is up imo. I say yes. And I’d be looking at a 3-4th rounder for a needy team that is playoff or Super Bowl bound

For the fans who would like to get into super bowl contention, a huge yes. Keeping aging players on non-super bowl competitive teams is what keeps them down.
Fully agree. I’m not interested in “making the playoffs” so Jerry can continue to claim to be “close” or “around the rim.”

As a fan I ask only this…..if you aren’t a championship caliber team, be in the mode of trying to become one, and have the ability to recognize which one you are.

These two are kings of misevaluation in several ways.

The idea that “they don’t care about winning” is a total myth. They just aren’t any good at it and never will be. I had blind squirrel type hope for years. That recently ended, and it’s 50/50 if that ever changes in my lifetime.

Martin would be a valuable asset to any team. His resume speaks for itself, and he is handcuffed here in a bad scheme and a dinosaur of an OL coach.

A change of scenery would do wonders for him and frankly, he deserves a shot at a ring.

If we lose the next two games— I absolutely would move him and gain some draft capital.

We need to do right by him and get him a shot at a SB, get as much draft capital as possible for a rebuild, clear the cap of old contracts, and evaluate Hoffman and Bass as possible replacements for Zack.

There is no downside to moving him if we are not contending this year. But there will always be the sentimental argument to retain him so he “retires as a Cowboy.” We gotta make some tough decisions for the better of the team. This may be one of them.

This article makes a good argument why now is a good time to trade 9 time All Pro and Future 1st Ballot Hall Of Fame Right Guard, Zack Martin...

What say you?
Yes, they should. They should trade Martin, Parsons, Diggs, Cooks, and Hooker. They screwed up this year by not signing Henry. A major screw up. They can make up for it by building for next year. They can not win without good running backs and dtackles. Those players are available in the draft. They need to get them and have more money to spend in free agency.

No. The cowboys haven't shown that they can receive fair value in return on these trades. We might as well keep him and let him retire a Cowboy.

No, simply because of the dead cap in 25

Time to of traded him was in 23 when he was pouting for a new deal.

And I don't think his value is as high anymore

Trading him and getting anything in return window already passed.

What compensation do you get for a 33 yr old guard near the end of a career ? At most a 5 .

Was watching some offense in action replays and man it seems like the entire O line takes the hit of the opposing D line instead of firing out and dominating . Zeke met behind the line of scrimmage as he’s jogging into the huddle practically .

Dowdle met at the hole by multiple defenders . OLinemen getting pushed back .

I equate the Mike Solari hire to when MM brought in Mike Nolan as DC in that disaster . Had to be a better reason to hire someone then you knew him way back when .

Any player on an expiring contract or you have no intention of bringing back next year should be on the trading block...

Honestly, yes. Go let this guy pursue a Superbowl and get us back some compensation for him.

This is likely the big dog's last year, unless he's got one more in him. Either way, the road is running out and this team needs all of the draft capital it can get.

The last member of the 2010s maulers. Martin, Smith, and Fredbeard. It's really the end of an era.
