Should the Dallas Cowboys trade Zack Martin before the trade deadline?

The ideal time to have traded Martin has passed. As usual, Jerry holds on to players too long when they are not worth much. Martin has really fallen off the cliff big time.

This article makes a good argument why now is a good time to trade 9 time All Pro and Future 1st Ballot Hall Of Fame Right Guard, Zack Martin...

What say you?
If they lose this weekend, I'd try to move both Martin and Steele. Well, I'd probably instead try to add players so that we can compete, but this front office isn't going to do that.

Trading Steele and Martin would mean our starting line is Smith, Richards, Beebe, Bass, Guyton. That would give us the rest of the season to see if that line can jell or if we have to bolster it.

I'm not sure we can get much for either player, though, since Martin is liable to retire after this season and Steele hasn't been the same since his injury.

I would give Zack Martin every opportunity to win a super bowl elsewhere because he's not getting one with Dallas.

It’s pretty pointless on our end. Zero cap savings and likely a day three pick

They are 3-3 (fans know we likely struggl), but Jerry sees them making the playoffs
I actually made a thread to trade him last offseason and was run out of town on this forum. It’s always better to get ahead of it for sure. But if we’re not saving anything no point outside of draft picks.

I would think a 5th, but even if they get blown out the next two games, Mr. marketing won’t be sending the white flag message.

If it were a real front office that would spend the cap savings elsewhere and isn’t infatuated with corners, the guy I would move is Diggs. He would bring back probably a 2nd, then use the savings on the DL in the off-season. Couple that with Carson and Bland at CB and they are a better overall team, but they don’t think that way. They like to collect jersey sellers and they would have to eat a pile of #7s, plus Jerry probably likes Diggs personally.

One thing is for sure, if they insist on staying with the draft only approach, they need to find a way to accumulate more picks. They operate as if they will never bust any of them, and will also be a solid starter immediately. We see the effects of what happens when it doesn’t with Mazi and Guyton.

Expecting rookies to contribute like free agents is foolish, but that’s what you get when those decisions are made by fools.
Ball hawking corners are a very rare breed, I am not trading Diggs away.

His back is shot and he's retiring after this season. Nobody's giving up anything for him.

He's not exactly a Ball Hawk and really never has been and he's not a shutdown corner. He takes lots of gambles and that's why his interception totals used to be high.

I heard somewhere how he was evicted from his first house he rented in the NFL due to non-payment? He has no class and you don't get contracts to people like that. You see exactly what he's done since the signing, and that's nothing.

If I could get a 1 for him, yes; a 2, maybe... not that I want to trade him, but it would make sense.

You likely aren't going to get much for him.

You also don't have a better option than him at this point either at RG. So if you are entertaining any hope they can still make a run at the playoffs, he likely has to stay. If you think it's time to blow this up, then sure, see what you can get.
This right here. Low value and no replacement. Might as well come out and say you're tanking.

I think we keep him. I would consider trading Steele and some picks for a quality player... Miles Garrett?

He has one pick this year…against Watson, and a total of five since the end of 2021. They’d be about the same team without him.

He makes a boatload of money and doesn’t like to tackle on a team that has run defense difficulties.

Not that I dislike him, they just need to find a way to get more picks if they are going to continue to refuse to use free agency and get this DL fixed.

No worries on your end. He is going nowhere.

Most teams have avoided him due to the other starting corner. Do you forget that he had 10 plus interceptions 2 years ago?

2nd comment has nothing to do with what he does on the football field. He has lead the league in interceptions since he arrived.
