Should we worry about Detroit?

There isn't a team in the league we shouldn't worry about. When will people learn?

Detroit is really good on offense. Reggie Bush is tearing things up right now.

"Worried" isn't the right term for it, but obviously Detroit can beat us.

That said, I think the offense gets back on track, CJ burns us for a TD or two but the defense forces a few turnovers to neutralize the damage.

I'll say... 33-20 Dallas.

I agree maybe for a different reason but Cowboys can't take any game lightly. Then again I think any team who takes someone lightly will normally find themselfs in an unexpected dog fight much like the Pats did yesterday when they lost to the Jets.

They have just has many as weapons as the Eagles if not more and a QB who unlike Foles can put the ball on the money. Add to that a loud stadium and I am very concerned about this game. Of course their defense isn't ranked very high but neither was the skins or eagles and we still struggled at times against those.
Your thoughts?

I worry about each team the Boys play until the game is over. Then on to worry about the next opponent...

Have a friend who is an avid Lions fan and he says their secondary is borderline terrible. Our Offensive line will have to hold up for most of the game[which I believe it will] I can see that bone headed SUH giving us a few bones too.

We need to kill them with middle routes and slants and with Austin, Williams, Witten and Beasley I fully expect us to do that. We should take advantage of their good d-line with some screens to keep them at the very least honest.

If Foles had been on target more yesterday, we would have had a couple more interceptions. Alot of people point out how inaccurate he was but our guys were in great position most of the night, not every play but no one is perfect. With Detroit, the same thing applies. We will win some and lose some and I bet some of Staffords "on target" throws are batted or picked. Megatron is a beast but we will cover him with Carr and a man over safety. We will man up his other receivers and trust Bruce Lee to keep Bush in check. I could be wrong but I think Lee was injured last time we played Bush and he destroyed us. As some other posters stated, we could lose this game and I admit a little trepidation on my part but overall, if we are on our game, I think we match up well with them and will pull off the win.

If they treat bush the same way as they treated McCoy it should not be an issue. The key with Megatron is you can limit him but you will most likely not stop him. Do not alter the defensive plan to completely take him away or you will get burned elsewhere. The one good thing is our DBs are used to going against Dez so they should be prepared as well as they con be given the circumstances. Let stafford throw he is mistake prone.

After coaching myself for 24 years, .. this seems like a foolish question.

Prior to the game, I would never never ever ever take any team for granted.

None, .. it does not work that way.

We are 3 point underdogs right now.......

Vegas doesn't expect us to win.

Could be a let down game for the Boys too.....

id be impressed if there was. Overall should the Lions be afraid of us? no, we bring nothing more than they do, just a few differences. Our biggest question against the Lions, can we deal with a qb whos going to hit his recievers? The run im fine wiht and th eLions have no said runner who we should fear. What the Lions can do better than us, is play a solid D, and score points. We do one or the other, on rare occasion both. Its going to answer some questions for us.

Our biggest question, which Cowboys team shows up? That will set the game and the day for us. If the defense fails, Stafford is going to be clucking like a champ thinking hes all that. If tha tD comes but the offense doesnt, the Romo haters are going to be all over it. We just arent consistent and its one of the factors pissing some fans off.

Their D has given up more yards and points than our defense. Even with the 51 points we gave up to Denver.
And that Detroit's vaunted dline we are worried about has 7 less sacks than our no name DLine.
We also scored more points on offense than their offense.

I see them as no better or worse than us. They should worry about us as much as we should worry about them.

For whatever reason our offense has been very good against 4-3 teams this year

Nope... Just checked and they are barely even talking about us but they do sound a lot like our fanbase here... check them out:

Give them time. I'm sure there will be a similar thread.

EaGirl fans were mostly picking them to lose last week when the Cowboy fans were worrying about the EaGirls.

This will be the biggest test our safeties have had. Our dbs can run with anyone but the height advantage megatron has is scary, and I agree on Suh and Fairley.

That said, I think we can roll coverage to Megatron and Bush without getting hurt otherwise or stacking the box. Throw in some well timed pressure and I think you can slow them down.

The key in this game is that our offense MUST get things figured out. If we can find a way to protect Romo against 4 man fronts and get them to blitz, then we have some nice options.

I think we are a better offense on turf than grass. We are becoming more of a speedy team, particularly with Williams and then Beasley is more of quick, cutting type of player. Defensively we seem to play better on grass. Go figure.

I don't think it's 4-3 vs 3-4. We have problems when playing a team that play press and blitzes. JG's offense doesn't work well against that type of defense.

With Beasley, we've been doing better on 3rd downs because he gets open so quicly. But on 1st and 2nd downs when Beasley isn't in, we haven't consistently beat the blitz.

To counter that we need to do better at screens and run some draws. Unfortunately, we suck at running screens and we don't run the draws much anymore.

I like the way our back seven are coming together on defense, I like that RM is cutting the front four loose, but most of all, I hate their HC so we better kick some bunns...

I don't know if I agree with the defense comment. We looked pretty bad on defense in San Diego and pretty decent against the Commanders and Rams.
