That list is incredibly stupid. So basically any good team without Mahomes has s closing window?

Then what makes it so stupid I glanced over what they said about Philly and Cowboys….they said both have a young nucleus and should still
Contend….what the hell lol?

I love the way the writer just automatically assumes the Eagles' first round draft picks will be as good as the players they are replacing without them ever taking the field.

Anyway, I think this article nails it for the Cowboys. It is all about Dak. He has to show he can lead this team to a Super Bowl by doing it. He demonstrates great skills early in the season and during some games but then soils the sheets in a big game creating doubt in the minds of many fans. It is the age old question about riding a horse too long. But, what is missing from this analysis if the damage Dak's current contract will do to the team if they let him go. $36 million in dead money is nothing to laugh about.

So we finally have a team that may be a true contender and if Dak cant win it all that ONE season we get rid of him?

Are the Cowboys better than the Niners, Eagles, Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, ect.....ect.....? I cant say they are.

What about Burrows, Hurts, Josh Allen, all these other guys that havent delivered a SB. Should they be cut too?
'
Aren't Burrows, Hurts (and maybe Allen) all younger and dont show the same cracks in their game that are appearing in Dak's... the reason that 2023 (poss 2024) are potentially his last chance is that it appears he wants elite money without any indication he can get us through the play-offs.

The argument is that this is the very first time Dak has had a legitimate SB contender team around him.

The argument is about winning the SB, not making the SB or championship games. None of those other QB's have won SB's.

Under the arguments premise they should all be cut.

Which is completely stupid and we both know it. But this is how most fans think. Cowboys fans anyway. I highly doubt the Bengals fans are talking about cutting Burrows if he doesnt win the SB soon.
ok I agree, it isnt all on dak, but it is possible another qb might do better than dak is doing in playoffs ??
With a different and in some ways better qb they might just get to a SB.
Coaching an playcalling etc play a big part , so it is a prove it year for mike and his coaches too.

I can't speak for others, but for me, his extension isn't about a Super Bowl this season but NFCCG has to be the floor.
BTW......Burrows, Hurts and Allen all have NFCCG games under their belts.
I never get this thinking. So if the team wins we re-sign Dak. If they lose let him go lol….ultimately the goal is to win a SB and it’s up for this team ti determine if they are close to doing that with Dak or without. But either way that’s not defined by whether or not he gets to the NFCG.

So no matter what happens, no matter how he plays your going to blame Dak for the team not getting to the NFCCG?

That is pretty much the mindset of QB challenged football fans everywhere. Blaming the QB.
Roy, I'm pretty sure if he plays post-season games the way played against he the Bucs, no one will blame him but if he lay an egg like the 49ers game, then yea. You have to admit we saw two completely different players.

I think Dak needs to get us to a NFC Championship in the next two seasons. If he fails, use a 1st on a QB in 2025.

My responses are based entirely on this season, his post-season play, and whether or we are extending him for another 4 years. I agree Dak can play lights out and we still could lose and he's proven he can win early-round playoff games. If he's worthy of a $50M extension, we have to know he can at another level. For me, that level is the NFCCG.......not necessarily win it, advance at a min.

Remember Jerry once said as a player, Dak is more similar to Troy Akiman than Romo? I took that as his leadership and more systematic.

So just for the record if he plays well and we lose you still move on if its not NFCG?

Really? Where are you going to find a top 10 QB that will play with a 92.3 QBR in the playoffs with 15 TD's and 5 picks? Just pluck some rookie next year in cross your fingers?

Dak has played well overall in the playoffs.

I think you will find that most offenses tank when playing the #1 defense in the NFL. Who played well on offense for the Cowboys? Can you even name one guy that helped out Dak in his effort to carry the team?

Is that any different from some posters here who think Mazi is the God-sent answer to the interior defense?

No! My whole issue with him now is the taste from the 49ers game. That can not happen again during playoffs IMO.
I understand. I believe they should move on regardless of how he plays if they can't progress. Probably unfair to him but its been enough time. We know what he is at this point. He's a franchise QB either you win or not IMO.
