This deal looks worse every day. Longer it goes on the more likely Dallas are to give up way too much. I thougt a 5th was too much but now a player as well! This has epic fail written all over it.

As A Titan fan I would take any draft pick for Jones, a player is a huge added bonus. The cowboys are the only team offering anything and if they didn't trade for Jones the Titans would cut Jones in all likelyhood.

Jones is on felony probation and will probably end up in prison before he even gets suspended by the league again and the Titans have to get anything they can while they can.

As far as a player, the Titans need DL after losing Laboy and Odom. Spears might work and Ellis would to depending on if the Cowboys want to clear the way for Spencer to play.

Ya, and your grandma wins miss America:lmao2: Dude, get a CLUE!!!!

Or minimal risk with potential ring reward?

If it's Ayodele and a fifth rounder, that's more than fair.
That is way to much IMO.

If they want a player, I'd only give them a 7th not a 5th.

If they want a draft pick only, I'd give them a 5th.

One could even argue, Akin by himself would be fair.

How is giving up a starter more than fair? If Akin loses his spot as a starter, he would still be valuable as a backup due to all his experience in the regular defense.

Burnett or Carp or one of the backup DL would make more sense.

..for some cap to be opened up and a roster spot at some point anyway.

Why not trade a player on this deal..?

Ayodele would seem likely and I'm assuming that Dallas and PacMan and his agent when they were in town spoke about the contract re-draw.

So it think this will get done shortly.

As for re-doing the present contract, I'm assuming Dallas is going to have some sort of option only they can exercise to retain him past the 1st year if he plays OK, etc.

As for his numbers on his present contract, they are OK it would seem going forward, cap friendly and doable.

Dallas just needs an exit clause built in somehow in case..and I'm sure PacMan would want some sort of redo on his contract after the 2nd year going into his 3rd year under the contract to have it redone to be more in line with what his position will pay at that point.

Dallas has to be fair to the player and give him some upside DTR for this to work.

We'll see.

If this happens and we can get his suspension lifted earlier than TC..that would be the icing on the cake. You know Jones is going to petition for that right away once the trade goes down.

He's not a starter with Zach on the team. Even when he was, he's been a P Poor starter. If you don't think so, you better go look at the WILB stats for the other 3-4 teams. We could get a scrub off the street to make less than 50 tackles at the one possition where you should have 100 minimum.

I see him going to the Dolphins if he does get traded. Makes too much sense.

Yea. I say let Tuna trade for Carp and Fasano. What a wasted draft.:bang2:

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't give up Carp. Yes I'm still holding out hope.

Zach's production and place on the team is no guarantee, IMO. I'm not that optimistic. I hope everyone's excitement is justified, but I have doubts.

Whatever you may feel about Akin's production as a starter, his value to the team is still more than what Burnett or Carp has shown to this point in the regular defense. Should Zach be the starter and gets hurt for any reason, would you be comfortable with either Burnett or Carp stepping in? I'm not.

I wouldn't want to, but he's still young enough for a team to think he has upside and might be intrigued for trade possibilities.

Why would you do that to Glenn? He has been nothing but a class act here. If he can't play then cut him for performance issues...fine, he'll understand that, but to trade him for someone like Pacman and make him feel like a scrub. Dude, have a little humanity will you. I hope JJ doesn't do like you suggested.
What is the world are you talking about? You would rather cut a player for performance issues instead of trading him to a team that he could excel with and benefit from? In all reality, Glenn may be nothing more than a third for the Cowboys this year. Considering that the Titans have the likes of Roydell Williams and Justin McCareins starting at WR, Terry Glenn could find himself as THE man in Tennessee. Its not about disrespect at all. This is a business and Glenn understands this. The team must do whats best for the team and in this scenario both parties could benefit from the move.
