Again though, Romo carries with him a perception of being a guy who cracks under pressure. He also has the fortunate/unfortunate reality of playing for America's Team.... everybody hates #1.

Ryan has the same perception... or at least should. He's won just one playoff game his entire career I believe and got obliterated by the Panthers the last game of the year last year with the division on the line.

Why? Looking for actual reasons.

If we looking at the here and now--and not a few post season game several years ago-- there are no legit reasons.
Beyond comical really, that someone would put Flacco ahead of him.

I've gotten used to that stuff around here by now though.

The league really does have 12-14 very good to, in some cases great, QBs. I think it's the most at that level they've ever had.

He is definitely better than Rivers and Ryan for sure. I don't understand the love for Matt Ryan. I really don't. He's solid. That's it. I've seen him throw some passes that if it was Romo instead, He would be getting destroyed by the media on how horrible of a play it was. Julio Jones makes him a better QB than he really is.

How does Ryan continually gain more credibility than Romo. If the knock on Romo is what has he done? then what the HECK has Ryan done?!?!

I totally agree with ya. There's some media people that just drool over him. I can't stand it. Morons

I'll rank Brady above him. I'm not counting "deflategate" but the guy was considered top 3 before last season and he just won a superbowl and had a pretty solid season once he got rolling. Peyton and Brees have to prove they are still top 10...too much respect given to them based on their names, I wouldn't want either to QB my team with how inconsistent they played last season.

I can agree with that, definitely. I'm just saying that, from a statistical standpoint, Romo should be 2nd.

Ryan does not come with the same perception. Somehow, he's managed to dodge that on a national scale... but again, Romo plays for America's Team, when was the last time anyone gave two ***** about the Atlanta Falcons? Playing for the Cowboys is about the same as playing in NYC, you'll always be in the spotlight.

Why anyone, other than a Falcons fan, would put Ryan above Romo beats me.

Probably has a lot to do with him being attached to fancy statistics like:

In the history of the NFL, only two quarterbacks have ever strung together (3) or more consecutive seasons with 4,500+ passing yards, 25+ touchdown passes, while maintaining a completion percentage above 66.0. The first was Peyton Manning, whose streak has continued for (5) consecutive seasons (2009-10, 2012-14). The other is Falcons quarterbackMatt Ryan.

Ryan holds the NFL record for most completions in the first (7) years of a quarterback’s career.

Ryan also has the second most passing yards in the first (7) seasons of a quarterback’s career.

Using the QBS2 multigenerational grading system that combines league ranking in QBR, DVOA and passer rating, Ryan ranks high — above many members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

To me, QB rating is overrated....

Also, give Romo Tony Gonzales, Julio Jones, Roddy White and the running game Atlanta had from 2010-2012 then see what happens.

Ive always felt like Ryan was a product of the talent around him.

I couldn't agree more on QBR being vastly overrated. As far as talent surrounding the two, Romo has had as much talent around him as any QB in the NFL since he became a starter, I honestly don't view that as a valid argument.

White and Julio at one time were 2 valid #1s...Romo has never had that and a top running game all at the same time.

Romo has had talented players around him, but even last year he didn't have 2 legit #1s at WR.
