I just wish we could have the same consistent color on ALL of our uniforms.

What bothers me is the fact that the helmet is silver and home pants greenish silver.

The helmets have a navy blue star and royal lighter blue numbers on white uniforms and the socks a shade between.

It's not hard to have a consistent color coordination. Look at the rest of the NFL teams.

How anybody could screw up the best uniform look is beyond me.

I think all you who think the helmet color has changed should go to your menu on the TV and play with the color. It has not changed....

You are all scaring me....

I guess I'm just a lot older than a lot of you. "Metallic Silver Blue" was the description in the Cowboys media guide back in the 70s. The official team colors were "metallic silver blue, royal blue and white". If you're younger, this probably does sound strange.

I think this is one of the reasons that most people thought the practice jerseys looked as good as they do. I remember when we first saw them many were wanting them for the game day jerseys.

Here's a pic from today of Patrick Crayton:

and here's a pic of Emmitt:

Given the different lighting conditions, those colors are identical. There was a blue-er helmet years ago, as the previous pictures pointed out, but maybe it was one of those things you just now noticed.

Geeze but aren't you the observant one...30 years later you noticed that they had changed the helmet color. The bluish tint went away long ago when they went to the metallic look. Regardless of what they might have called it in the media guide the color has been the same since the late 60's.

You can add me to the list of those who would like to see us go to the Silver pants full time and also go to the darker blue numbers on the white Jerseys. Ditch the aqua tinted pants if nothing else. I'd also like to see us ditch the clown suit looking throwback uniforms...God I hate that look...not to mention we always lose when we wear them.

You were on a roll until the throwback uni diss.

That's easily my favorite of all the Cowboys looks. Very stylish yet clean and classy looking, IMO.

Aside from that, I agree with everything you said.

The helmets used to have a blue tint to them...

Jerry changed the helmet to silver during the early 90's, but didn't alter the pants worn with the white jerseys...

The pants that go with the blue jerseys were also changed to a more true silver to closely match the helmets...

I heard him talking about it to Brad Sham back in the day...

There is no chnage in the helmets since the 60's, the home pants are a bluish/silver when the white jersey's are worn. When there on the road they wear either the blue or the white jersey with the away silver pants(which look way better imo) than the home pants. We look best in the ble jersey's w/ silver pants ie. carolina or washington last year. I would imagine we'll be in blue opening day as were at Jacksonville where it's hot and Del Rio will push for his team to wear there white uniforms.

The uni needs to return to the way it was when Staubach was playing in my sig pic.

The greyish silver in the pants looks much better than the greenish aqua blue they wear today.

The helmets still have a slight bluish-silver tint even though it's not as blue as it was in the 60's in the Lance Rentzel picture.

I personally like the plain silver pants and think they would like nicer with the white jerseys, as would the darker blue numbers.

now this i can get on board with.

bring back the dark blue numbers, and re-paint the field in dark blue as well.

I'm watching the replay of last night's game and the helmets appear to be way lighter than the pants. In fact the helmet doesn't even appear to be blue anymore, just sliver like the road pants. Did anyone else notice this? It doesn't make sense since they only wear the road blue maybe once a year.

you cant be serious. the helmets are always silver. Silver with a blue star. The helmet has never been blue. What universe have you been in?
