You, and others, are acting like ya'll personally knew the guy. He was a member of the team you CHEER for, not a personal friend. I doubt you ever met the guy...still I understand being sad about it...but the way some of you are talking its like the world has ended...I for one am tired of it...go ahead tell me I dont get it, tell me I am insensitive and don't have a heart...but your post (and others) are annoying in their level of drama and I am tired of having a new one come up every few minutes.

Taylor would say don't let them complete a single pass...

Hey, I understand what you are saying to an extent... the board is a different color, you have new crazy Commanders fans and Cowboy fans are getting along with the Commanders... it's like a full moon for some of you guys. I get that. For many of us Commanders fans, things will never be the same in regards to how we view Cowboys fans. It truly has meant that much. But do I think that all of this was done, and said just to make Commanders fans feel better? Of course not. I think the majority of the people I have seen post have done so because they feel it in their guts, they feel it in their hearts... they know that not only did the NFL lose a great young athlete that was just coming into the world, but someone that we watch every week (regardless of the team) is gone... someone who made the game more interesting, is forever gone. Many people have followed him since college, and while they may not pull for the Commanders, they still admire him and the way he plays the game. The man died yesterday, and I'm fairly certain things will be back to normal around here very soon... but I think right now, true fans of the great sport itself, are just mourning losing this man. It doesn't matter what team he played for, it's so much more than the game, or the burgandy and gold... and I for one have been forever touched by the kind words said on this board. I have been sent private messages from Cowboys fans that just wanted to say kind words. It's just random acts of kindness that make you think a little more about things. Had this been Roy Williams, I can guarantee you that you would have this giant pit in your stomach, choke back the tears, and feel like you had lost a friend... regardless of if you knew him or not, we live for our teams... we love our teams, we love the players, you don't have to personally know any of them to grieve the loss. My best friend is a huge Cowboys fan and lives in Dallas, he didn't say one word to me when this happened, I received more support from THIS site than people I know and love, that is a credit to everyone on this site.

That said, again, I understand where you are coming from... but I am also very thankful, and for the first time EVER in my 36 years, I can say that I hope the Cowboys kick some serious tail tomorrow... Horror of all horrors, I won't be grief stricken if they even win the super bowl.

you and me both on strahan/favre. ; )

but when you forever lose someone close? is 1 play to start a game really that bad? if they chose to play the whole game that way- great. do it. buffalo should try to win and not worry about it.

but for 1 play i don't get the ill will or disrespect for the game. is a moment of silence wasted when we could have done something productive instead?

i won't tell the skins how to grieve, i'll just support them while they do. can it ever go "too far"? yes. here is where we'll talk about it cause everyones "too far" will likely be different.

I don't believe that the Bills should be labeled as "classless" or anything else if they attempt to score on the first play and that's what quite a few people seem to be saying. The Bills responsibilities aren't to anyone but the Bills themselves, their owner, their team and their fans.

i would like to see the bills honor "one" play. if they choose to go for it and try to score - their choice. if the skins feel it's ok, their choice. would i lable the bills classless? maybe a 2 or 3 on a scale of 10.

i put helping people through hard times above a game. even a multi-billion dollar one. maybe even moreso cause life is more important than the game or the money. football could go away and life would go on. life goes away, football follows.

i get what you're saying and i think we're in agreement on most of this.

One play may be the difference between winning and losing and with both teams still in playoff contention I think that play matters. .IF they choose to play a 10 man lineup, why not wait until the game doesn't matter to anyone but themselves.

Look, I don't believe that this game isn't going to be close. Either Washington rides emotion and destroys the Bill or they come out with their minds somewhere else and get destroyed but that one play may be the difference.

You should have heard me going off about that play.:D

I think a lot of fans probably remember when Thurman Munson died in a plane crash. And for those that don't remember, Munson was a far bigger "star" than Taylor and that's not meant as disrepect to Taylor.

The Yankees did a memorial ceremony before the game the next day then played on. Heck, the entire team attended his funeral in Ohio then flew to New York to win a game that night.

There's a lot that Washington could do while respecting the game itself.

or when Flyer goalie Pelle Lindbergh died in a car crash (granted he was wasted). They had their moment of silence and tribute the next game. There was no starting the game without a goalie or anything of the sort.

OK, now I'm on the over board crowd. ST wasn't military nor did he fight for humanity. He was a football player.

welcome to the dark side David, I hope you have a very thick skin ;)

I'm ok with most of this but I live a few miles from a USMC base. People I know are in different parts of the world fighting and some losing for our freedom and rights.

ST was a great player who was turning his own life around............

There was a 34 year old man in Lewisville who died yesterday in a car accident. He was a father of two small children. He didn't have a multi million dollar football contract. He didn't have a billionaire owner to take care of his widow. He didn't have a huge fan base taking up donations for his child to go to college. He was just a regular guy with a regular job and regular problems. Now his family is facing a Christmas without their father and wondering how they're going to pay all of their bills and keep their home.

Death is tragic. I'm real sorry for what happened to Sean Taylor but there are far greater tragedies every single day. I do agree everyone is going a little overboard with this whole thing.

Is there a message board set up for them where I can send my sympahty? And I'm being serious!!!!!

What will the Bills do in that case?

Probably go 3 and out like they normally do.

this is a choice washington has to make. if they want to handicap themselves for a play, their call. if buffalo wants to go to the weak area, their call.

people are going to argue regardless. : )

I took this from ES. I can honestly say that if they do this I will be brought to tears!!!

From Dan Shanoff:

www.danshanoff.com

There is rumor that the Commanders will open on defense against the Bills with only 10 players, as a tribute to Taylor. That seems like as nice and fitting a moment as an NFL team can create on the field.

Just saw this thread and didn't read all 5 pages so sorry if this is a repost...

This is what USC (I believe) did when 1 of their kickers passed.

On their very 1st XP attempt of the season they lined up 10 without a kicker and took a 5-yard delay of game penalty.

Pretty moving scene.

I take it people on here are calling the Skins' out if they pull something like this? Didn't read too much besides the OP.

No, if Dick Jauron sees the Skins play only 10 players on the first play in honor of Sean Taylor, the appropriate thing to do would be to pull one of his own players.

10 on 10 for the first play in honor of Sean Taylor.

No taking knees or wasting plays.

I agree completely. If Jauron had any class at all he would take one out too. If the 'skins actually do this, that is.
