I'm in awe......

I can't believe anyone could look at Romo's performance and not consider it to be very good at least.

I can't believe all the "dink and dunk" crud the Skins' fans are throwing out.

What about the first completion to TO? That occured 18 yards downfield on the opposite hash.

What about the slant to Hurd? That pass was on a rope 15 yards down the field.

Dink and dunk is what WCOs do. Garrett's offense requires downfield passing.

(Incidentally, that first game when Romo was put in at half for Bledsoe in NY... it is not on here, but Romo threw for 227 in that 2nd half in his first game action... a number which Campbell hasn't reached in 9 full starts).

Just look at the colors. It's not even close.

Tony Romo has been good pushing the fringes of extremely good.

Jason Campbell has been trash pushing the fringes of acceptable.

Ouch!
That has to leave a mark.:lmao2:

I keep hearing how great Campbells deep ball is and how accurate it is, but I look at last seasons stats and what do I see

Pass Thrown: 21-30 yds 2 of 16 12.5% completions

Pass Thrown: 31-40 yds. 3 of 7 42%

Pass Thrown: 41+ yds. 0 of 8 0%

Link? I was looking for those stats earlier.

how can you dink and dunk and average 23 yards per completion?

go to players

type in Campbell and hit splits :)

Thanks.

That's pretty cool.

Like for instance, how "Romo can't throw it deep" but Campbell can?

11-20 yards down field: 68.8% 49.0%
21-30 yards down field: 36.2% 12.0%
31-40 yards down field: 33.3% 42.9 %
41 + yards down field: 25.0% 0.0%

I am sure they can rationalize it somehow... you know... "TWENTY THREE YARDS???.... Thats not even 1/4 of the football field" :lmao2:

Three plays = Touchdown!! HAHAHA!!!

Simply put, Commander fans are about as bright as a 2 watt lightbulb. Then again, their team is from Washington, the spin capital of the country. I'm telling you, trying to debate anything Cowboy-related with them is like talking to a lamp post. You can have all the evidence in the world to back up your position, and the still won't get it. I think they're just born stupid.

Romo has embarrassed three teams (Carolina and Tampa in 06 and NYG in 07)in his short career and upset two favorites (NYG in 06 and Indy in 06).

He has also lost two disappointing ones on last second field goals (Was and Sea in 06).

Bottom line Romo makes Dallas competitive.

Yeah, your right, I did just make up that statistic (like I said). It's wrong, but I said I didn't do any research, so it's going to be wrong.

And as a result of making that stat up, you made yourself look kinda stupid, didn't you??

There's a moral to that story-- don't bring a statistical argument into this forum until you're sure you have your facts straight... that's because we have more than a few posters who are quite capable of making a few mouse clicks and ascertaining the reality of the matter for their own selves...

Manning had 3 games that fall that far below his average (19% of the time). Brady had two games that far below his average (13%), Palmer had 1 game (6%). These QBs, while they are the cream of the crop, don't struggle with consistency nearly as much as Romo does.

Now, go back and look at their first 11 games as starters, and tell us how many of those games fell far below their averages that season...

Manning had 9 games with QBRs under 70 in his first 11 starts, 3 under 50, 1 under 40... Brady had four games where he put up quarterback ratings of 57.1, 58.7, 62.9 and 70.1 (he put up an 86.5 on that season)... Palmer had six games where his ratings were 43.4, 52.1, 53.3, 63.2, 63.7 and 65.4 in his first eleven games (he had a QBR of 77.3 for the season)...

So, what have we learned here?? That INEXPERIENCED quarterbacks can be up and down while they're learning their jobs...

DUH...

To me, the most telling stat of all is 11 starts, 2 NFC Offensive Player of the Week awards, likely to be 3 here in the next day or two...

That speaks to a quarterback who is quite capable of putting a team on his shoulders and carrying them to victory... which is, of course, something that Jason Campbell has yet to display that he's capable of, even once...

I didn't know that, I'm in Sierra Vista. I work at Ft Huachuca. I hate this place though, the best italian food is in a place with freaking plastic tableclothes, and consist of various choices like spaghetti, spaghetti with meatballs, vegeterian spaghetti and pizza.

If that's so important to ya, mebbe you should have married an Italian gal... :D

No form of night entertainment other than a bunch of redneck bars,

Aw gee, can't find a good hip-hop club??

Or is "good hip-hop club" an oxymoron??

What I find absolutely hilarious is that Tony Romo, in his first 2 QUARTERS OF PLAY in the NFL, put up better passing numbers than Jason Campbell has managed to muster in 9 STARTS in the NFL. Yet, Tony's overrated and Campbell's just "working out the learning curve".

Who was the one?

I saw a stat somewhere the other day comparing Romo's first 11 games with Kurt Warner's, and the comparison favored our boy... in his first 11 games as a starter, Tony has averaged a hair over 270 yards per game passing...

So you think the Giants defense is terrible and the Miami defense is one of the best? How convinient for Commander fans to think that way.

Miami's D is old and is far from one of the best in the NFL anymore.

Dan LeBatard is a fairly well-known sports writer who covers the Fins, and he wrote an article immediately after the Skins game that touched in part on that allegedly great Miami defense:

This allegedly great defense is exceptional at making stops right up until it matters most, at which point this has a bad habit of falling on its back like Paris Hilton.

Ouch... LOL...

Now, I'll grant you, reading his stuff he comes off as a Randy Galloway wannabe, but even so... if you hate the Fins, you might want to read the whole article, he's got a whole bunch of highly critical stuff to say...

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/columnists/dan_le_batard//story/231924.html

The Commanders spin is it's own special breed...

I'm highly amused at how Skins fans are now emphasizing the Fins' 4th place total defense ranking last year, rather than focusing on their 6-10 record... of course, they do that in a semi-desperate attempt to make the Fins out to be a quality, dangerous opponent... which is why I found LeBatard's comments about that defense to be so quite funny...

I hope Campbell pans out well b/c I'm an LSU/SEC fan.

As for Romo-so far, he's exceeding the expectations of alot of critics. I am happy for him.

Ahem...they're not solid with numbers, are they?

Skins fans in general have a tenuous at best grasp on reality... :D
