Well which part you want? The part where he had more TDs and almost as many yards with 15 less starts and 5 less games than the kick returner you signed? or the part where he makes less than a million while you just gave the kick returner 10 mill in bonuses

I forgot about his contributions in our series......what was the outcome of that by the way??????????????????????????????????????

Which one the one where he owned Sean Taylor for the game winning TD in his rookie year? I believe we won that 13-10

Well since I'm brand new to this board I can't speak for anyone else who is a Skins fan who chooses to post here but I am not one to resort to insults or personal attacks.

Well recent history is rather important when criticizing how well or not well our cap is managed. Since the only real indicator of success or failure in the NFL is Superbowls, I don't think it's a far stretch to say that the Cowboys have only been mildly more successful than the Commanders since Snyder took over. Obviously, you're entitled to your opinion on how Snyder manages his cap, but the Cowboys have not been any more successful with how they've managed theirs.

In regards to the "Brandon Noble is going to be a "blocker magnet", I'm sure we can probably find as many "Santana Moss for Laveranues Coles was a stupid trade" threads on this board as well.

Also, no one picked the Commanders to do anything last year. We were not "Paper Champions" by any stretch of the imagination. Look, I am definitely skeptical when it comes to Snyder. I've had many doubts for a long time and it took him bringing back Gibbs for me to finally give him another chance. Last year showed me that he was willing to back off the football decisions and let the coaches run the show even after they were not initially successful. It has paid off and I suspect that things have changed in the FO.

Snyder goes and gets the players his coaches want, not the players he wants. Maybe he overpays and leverages the future against the present, but we haven't had to pay the piper yet and it's been about 8 years since he's taken over so when do you suppose we might have to pay? 2012? When they have to redo the CBA again? I'll take those chances.
I already like you.

I was one of the Coles for Moss was stupid people. See, I will acknowledge when I am wrong. I'd like to see Moss do that for more than 1 year before he is annointed in the company of Marvin Harrison, but that's just me.

My contention hasn't changed. Giving up Draft picks for over priced Free Agents will not win you a Super Bowl. I've been saying it for 4 years. When ya'll are ready to listen come calling. I'm ready.

Like I said, the "excuse" has always been that we won our 3 Super Bowls because of the Walker trade. Like I said, duh. Building through the Draft works. It always has. It probably always will.

Tell me about that bonanza of success that signing the likes of Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, Jeff George, Chad Morton, John Hall, et al, has brought you. I don't see it.

You're excited that Snyder is willing to spend whatever it takes. Quite frankly so am I because it accomplishes exactly what I say every year. Your hopes will be sky high and will come crashing back down to earth with all that money flushed. Have I been wrong?

You see, some in here see this activity and get jealous. It thrills me. I don't believe you're getting the players who make that big a difference. Yeah, on paper, it looks good.

I'll take the risk of the Draft picks and building long term chemistry every day.

Oh and with regards to head to head success Jerry versus Danny, I'll take Jerry's first 7 years in the NFL over Danny's any day of the week. I'm funny like that.

Players come there for the money. Have been since Snyder became owner.
Um...and people come to Dallas for....the cool uniforms? It's always about the money for every team.

Teams are getting use to the defense and the offense has been already seen with the Rams & Chiefs.
Saunders has been the OC for KC for a long time and has ALWAYS had one of the most dynamic and prolific offenses in the NFL period. It doesn't matter who has seen it before.[/quote]

It will be interesting to see if he still gets credit for the hard work of two coordinators. ;)
Just like Bill Belicheck got the credit when he had Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis?

:hammer:

They just have bad memories. They can't recall the yearly excitement during free agency or the crushed dreams after each season.

Again Commander fans....what has your free agency history done for you as far winning championships?

It's a simple question really.

Recent games?

As in the past? What about not living in the past?

Hypocrisy, thy name is skins fan.

Aren't you embarrassed to be so transparent?

HAHA, OK I'll give you JJ's success over Danny Boy, but it was a very different business model during the first 7 years of JJ's ownership. BTW, I've never brought up the Herschel Walker trade for the Cowboys success in the nineties. I give credit where credit is due. You had an amazing team with a brilliant coach. I still hated you, but so what?

What I did say was since the introduction of the salary cap the cowboys have not been NEARLY as successful as they were without it and in fact, have been only marginally more successful than the Commanders.

BTW, I was not disappointed last year. I was thrilled. We exceeded all expectations, showed a degree of chemistry and teamwork which we hadn't shown in a decade, and clearly showed that our trades and FA pickups the last two years were not a waste of money. Maybe it was a fluke, maybe it wasn't. I'm betting it wasn't. But that's why they play the game.

Pop quiz, Hos:

Can you describe the differences, at signing, between FA's Washington signed several years ago like Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Jeff George, etc., and the ones signed over the past couple of years like Cornelius Griffin, Marcus Washington, Casey Rabach, A. Randle El?

Some of us are actually paying attention, you know. ;)

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. Throw enough money in every possible direction, and sooner or later you'll end up buying something that's actually worth the money.

The other difference? He's gone from overpaying stars on the decline to overpaying role players from Super Bowl teams. Another difference? One +.500 season and a .500 playoff record.

It's okay though. Blind optimism is the only thing that can sustain some fans.

Yes, it's a different era than when we were the last dynasty in the NFL. I acknowledge that. Always have.

Let's be honest, Jerry Jones got full of himself and thought he didn't need any help. That more than anything set this team back once the salary cap era hit us. He got us blue light specials at Head Coach. Congrats. It allowed your team some room to crow.

I am happy he pulled his head out. Do I wish he was doing some things differently? Yes, I'm not afraid to say so.

I will say it again. I thank my lucky stars Jerry is not trying to win the way Danny is. You can have it. It may get you 1 Super Bowl, but that will shock me if you want to know the truth. I don't think you have a prayer following that method.

Spend your millions. Win the off season press popularity contests. I want to win it all. That's all I care about.

Was your mission to make other Skins fans like OM look bad? because coming over here trolling while generally making no sense is not much of a mission.

Okay, YOU get a homework assignment. :)

Look up each FA the Skins have signed since Gibbs returned, and then write a 200-word short essay in further support of your ever-clever "blind squirrel" cliche.

For extra credit, look at your 2-season stats cited above and anaylize any trends you might decipher.

Now stop with the spitballs and get to work.
