This is the adult answer.

The key part is POLLARD coming to sideline saying he was done at 30 snaps.

With social media we get an echo chamber with everyone just posting based off vibes. TP himself may not want more carries. RB life is hard and not every back wants to leave every bit of life out on that field.

I don't believe this for a second.

I can believe Pollard asked for a breather in a 20-point game in the 4th quarter. But done after 30 plays? That's all he can do? The propaganda is strong with this one.
This post and anyone who likes it are telling on themselves.
Pedantic childish nonsense refusing to believe the words out of a guys mouth.
So accuse the RB Coach of lying on his RB???
Get out of here with that nonsense.

Maybe.

Did Pollard say it jokingly? Like, "man we're up by 20, I'm done with these guys." Or was he huffing and puffing and barely able to speak, asking his coach to pull him?

Context matters. There are cameras all over filming Sounds from the Sidelines; I'd love to hear this one. Because the way it plays out in this article sounds like Jerry-fueled "we go as Zeke goes" propaganda.

Not every back can maintain a high level of production despite taking the beating of the season. Mind you the guys playing defense have been getting beat on too. Everybody's wearing down over the course of the season.. Some guys just wear down faster.. But believe me.. nobody who has played an entire season is as fresh in January as he was on September.. That's just not how this works. He may be freshER than other guys owing to his own physiology, getting deep tissue massages, nutrition, the whole nine.. But the human body needs months to recover from the 50 weekly car wrecks of a football season. The older the player, the longer that process takes.

None of us knows if Pollard is capable of building to where he can play 70-80% of the snaps the way Zeke has been. Even though he had a great game Sunday we still don't know because he barely made it to half the snaps . And said himself he was toast after 31 snaps.. So what if it's not a blowout and the Cowboys need their lead back to actually play the last 10 minutes of the game? Do the Cowboys just line up in 5 wide empty and pass the rest of the way? Wait forget I said that.. Kellen Moore might be listening..
Months to recover? Now it's your turn have you actually played on a football team?

Pollard told you himself in that article "Coach I'm done.. I got nothin left.. " That was after 30 snaps.. THIRTY.. The offense is generally on the field for between 60 and 70 snaps.. Who's going to man the backfield those other 30-40 snaps? Can you imagine how Pollard would have felt after another 10-12 carries? And there will be games where the lead back will be asked to do just that.. as well as blitz pickup another 10-12 times. The Zeke hate is simply not rational. If his body is letting him down from carrying the load then so be it.. Cowboys fans should thank him.. not cheer for him to be ushered out the exit before the plane even gets to the gate.
Well just look at the forum members who hate zeke...right here in this thread. They have an M.O.. They OFTEN insult good forum members for an opinion. They think it's cool and makes them look so much smarter than supportive fans.

Nope.. never played .. in the NFL that is.

Good lord..

You think it's coincidence that the first thing most players do the instant the season is over is go on an extended vacation?

You think it's just to make sure the wife never meets the side piece?

SoTony was tired after 30 plays.
That's awesome.
Zeke breaks one for 12 yds and he's waving at the sidelines. Lol
Seriously I have no problem with 2RBs
Just more lightning and less thunder.
This guy lies....that isn't what happens. "noshame" indeed.

Hatred is never rational.. so I never expect any rational interaction with people who hate for any reason. I don't think Zeke is "done" or "needs to be cut or benched" just because Tony Pollard had a good game any more than I thought Pollard needed to be cut or benched after averaging .75 ypc against Washington or 1.8 against Tampa while Zeke was over 4 ypc combined in those games while doing a lot more of the dirty work .. I want both guys to ball out.. but I know there will be days when one looks better than the other based on the matchups, gameplan and what have you. And I am fine with that.. as are the two backs, the team, the coaching staff and ownership. The only ones who seem to be getting all bent out of shape about it are the mediots and some idiot fans. What are ya gonna do?

That's the perfect way to put it. Both are good to have though. I actually really enjoy watching both run the ball. Zeke is still a very fun back to watch.
The haters said Zeke can;t move a pile:

The haters said zeke would never hurdle again:

They just keep being wrong. But that's what hate does...that;s what saying things because you think it makes you cool does.

Both zeke and tony are fun to watch. A rare combination there!

We should feel lucky, BLESSED...contract be dammed....to have both RBs.

Instead we sit around and bicker about it. It's insane.

I hear what they are saying, but you can not just throw out the facts. Pollard has been more productive than Zeke and it’s not even close. Yes keep both, but the more productive back gets the most carries.
You need to look a little bit deeper than just "productivity".
First ...tony did have a nice game last week. But doing that week in and week out.....also blocking. Welp...he needs to show that.

2nd...the #2 back is SUPPOSED to have gaudy numbers. We always have. Until the get #1 then flame out. Tony is on his way to proving that wrong. "on his way".

3rd A lot of Tony's plays as #2 go away from the brick wall o-line. MAny people say it here "get Tony in space"...it most assuredly *is* where he excels.

But you can;t do that all the time. You have to bash the defensive line.

Tony did a pretty good job of that...except I didn't see him in pass block play all game long...SMART! But apparently kicked his arx pretty hard. Do that for 17 games...we'll talk then.

Hey Steve all great points and all points that I agree with. Look they know better the me, as I’m the fry guy at McD’s. I’m just wondering if Tony could handle more Carrie’s than Zeke (51%), would our offense thrive more. When Zeke plays, he dominates the snap counts.

Yeah the only people they should be mad at about Zeke's contract are the Joneses.. Zeke was rewarded for being one of the 5-10 best players in the game for three years.. as he should have been. Sure the holdout was cause for some acrimony but that's the business. Zeke and his agent saw that the Cowboys might be trying to do to him what they did to Murray and got out in front of it. I had no problem with it. It's business when they do it to the players so it's still business when the players do it back.

Our front office does not have the professional skill set to make the proper judgments you referred to.

Jerry likes to build stars and franchise players that remind us of the 90's teams that won the Superbowls. Not stupid business, that's for sure.

Market up the players to buy the uniforms, create the sales and revenue. That's why the team is worth what it is. That's also why he doesn't like letting them go so easy also. Because he already invested so much into their marketing and the return is still going to continue without having to invest more marketing into that player, which he now built into a brand. Zeke is the perfect example of that. Amari Cooper was not.

He'll pay Dak the monster deal and tell you he is elite at his position. Dak is not Elite, but he is a good football player and top 10 QB.

They'll tell you CeeDee Lamb is 1 of the best WR's in the league. There's at least 5 better, maybe even 10. 1 of them got traded as we know.

Zeke, was the best RB in the league at the time with Derrick Henry starting to come on and CMC entering the fray However, as another poster stated. We changed the offense to be geared more for Dak than Zeke as soon as we signed that deal.

The organization, did not allow Zeke to earn the contract and we can't blame him for signing it. Probably would have been the rushing champ 3 times in a row before that deal for not that suspension.

Im in the same boat philly. Im no expert....fer sure.

But i do know....numbers and stats dont live in a vacuum. Context analysis is important.

In the mean time....go tony AND zeke!
