Not surprised, since he hasn't even completed assembling his staff yet.
really?
does he even have Daks cell number?
You’d think he would call him first thing.
hey Dak. Coach here. Let’s talk ....
Arguments against signing Dak are nothing more than message board hot takes
It is hard to find a franchise QB capable of winning a Super Bowl
It is extremely difficult to find a elite, top 5 QB
all of the people complaining about Dak conveniently ignore the reality of the QB talent pool and availability.
you can’t just say “no” to Dak and install the next Mahomes, Rodgers, Jackson. That’s fantasy-land
these are the same types of fans who argue for tanking and complete roster overhauls every year a team doesn’t win a championship. It’s just naive internet roster dreaming.
Dak will be the Cowboys QB. He will get a crazy contract because all QB’s in his situation get crazy contracts.
unless you want to just draft some random QB every year, and we’re not talking an elite top five prospect, then you should be happy we have a serviceable QB who is at least above average.
Daks at a Duke game with Garrett.
A drop is a drop. Hits wr in both hands and is considered a catchable ball. Thats why they get paid tooI would definitely assign some of those drops on Dak depending on how a “drop” is defined.
This sums it all up! Dak is a bargain. Until he gets big money. This roster will be destroyed once Dak gets paid. And to make matters worse Jerry will probably focus the draft on oline and offense in the first 4 rounds leaving the defense just completely gutted. Yep that's what Dak brings to the table because he is not capable of carrying this team. He needs superior talent around him just to be average.Dak for $500k per year is really, really hard to replace. Dak for $35m per year is much easier to replace. Even if you get a mediocre quarterback, if you can do it for $5m then you have $30m to spend on the rest of the team, which is a massive amount of money.
Regardless, what makes Dak vulnerable is him wanting $35m+ per year to have the 10th best QB rating on an 8-8 team. If he wanted even $25m per year, this would have been done a long time ago.
And yeah, Wentz and Goff. Where are their teams right now?
What’s your proposal? Who is our QB next year? This sums it all up! Dak is a bargain. Until he gets big money. This roster will be destroyed once Dak gets paid. I haven't even looked at you list but I can tell you Rivers, Brees, Brady, even Tannehill have contracts that end. I would look for a stop gap for one year and pony up some 1st round picks for Trevor Lawrence. Might be best to roll with Keenum for a year. He is getting 7 mil from the Commanders. Just remember with Keenum you have everyone you want on this roster and with Dak at 32 mil you lose half you defensive line and Byron and maybe even Amari. What’s your proposal? Who is our QB next year?
I posted a list of QB. Pick one and if they are less than 30m, tell me what you’ll do with the whopping 5m you save?
Yeah, I'm not sure what the message being sent here is but it takes about a minute to text "Hey Dak. This is Mike McCarthy. I'm tied up with a lot of things but I'm looking forward to talking to you and working with you." Even if he did that, you could say that they had "communicated."
No communication is sending a message. I'm just not sure what.
Keenum is a free agent. Starting QB’s make a lot more than 7m, even spares like KeenumI haven't even looked at you list but I can tell you Rivers, Brees, Brady, even Tannehill have contracts that end. true but he made 2mil last year LOL wasn't chump change..Dak for $500k per year is really, really hard to replace. Dak for $35m per year is much easier to replace. But he doesn’t have to sign a team friendly deal.true but he made 2mil last year LOL wasn't chump change..
he can shower Dak with pleasantries all he wants as does SJ and JJ but that does not mean hes getting 35, thats not the message..the message is we want you but at a team friendly deal sign the 30mil you were offered and lets move on..if Dak becomes the next Tom12 he can rework this deal I 3-4 years..win win
The idea here is to use a cheap stop gap QB that is marginal to Dak. Keenum made 3.5 mil last season he would be happy with 6 mil.Keenum is a free agent. Starting QB’s make a lot more than 7m, even spares like Keenum
but, let’s say you get Keenum for 20m. What will you do with that 12m? Sign one really good position player? You’d take that over Dak?
I don’t think so.
the others you mentioned are all on the list and all will cost as much as Dak
