I know you're dying to see cap hell (which would only last a year).

But, keep holding your breath.

Since he's bought the team, they've gotten farther in the playoffs than your guys. So, I don't know what you're so pumped about.

Ruin a franchise.

Get the team further, and produce a more profitable product.

Yeah, he sucks!

Fact-- in the six years that Snyder has owned the Skins, they have gone 49-46-1... made the playoffs twice...

If that kind of mediocrity is your idea of a good owner, well, you're welcome to him...

For any Skins fan that complains aabout having it really bad with the cap situation, Dallas got screwed far harder by the league than Washington will this season (provided if the CBA isn't extended.)

Rich...........

The REALLY bizarre thing is Jerry was one of the main architects of that new salary cap, so he basically helped engineer the demise of his own dynasty...

I never seen so many conspiracy posts. Tags in his back pocket. Its laughable. Maybe instead of worrying about the "Sneaky Skins" you ought to worry about who is going to protect your tree trunk legged qb from getting killed this year. Oh yea 7 sacks against us? Our pass rush was mediocre at best.

Not to worry, shoring up the offensive line is one of the top priorities this offseason... and with the Cowboys positioned to have perhaps 20 million dollars of cap room (if no CBA is reached, that figure will be closer to 30 million if a deal is struck), they'll have more than enough resources to upgrade...

Everyone talks about panic, but did you see the Skins cutting players this week, no! They had player after player stepping up to renogiate contracts,

The only reason you haven't seen any cuts from the Skins YET is because the league gave them another 72 hours of wiggle room... if you think that they can get under the cap merely by renegotiating some deals, you're a fool, they can't get CLOSE that way...

Nope, if there is no CBA, there will be some major bloodletting in Washington in the next few days... even if there is a new CBA in place, there will be some cuts, or the Skins still won't have the cap room to make a play for any free agents (including their own, among them starting SS Ryan Clark)...

I smell some jealousy

Yeah, I'm REAL jealous of a team that has spent the last six years (most of them, anyway) buying up every name free agent they could find, only to post a 49-46-1 record over that time... ROTFLMAO...

because every year the media talks about cap hell for the Skins and every year we come out of it unscathed.

They actually got "scathed" some last year, if you were only paying attention... do you think they WANTED to lose Antonio Pierce or Fred Smoot??

And if there is no CBA put in place in the next coupla days, you guys are gonna get "scathed", big time... so I'd hold off on the woofing for a little while, unless of course you like coming off looking like the utter fool...

Nope I hate to tell you thats what Cowboy fans are famous for?(that is not being heard from when they suck) Our building has been sold out for over 40 years.
We are only famous for that in your own mind...

I never get the self-perception that you are better fans than us...

We are the most successful team in NFL history given our years in the league... we regularly are in the top 3 in merchandise sales (again #1 this year)...

The Commanders have a great fan base... but not any better than ours... in fact, not even close to ours...

We have our fairweather fans, but so do you guys... and so does every team in the NFL...

The Commanders suffer from an inferiority complex... you guys care 10 times more about the rivalry than we do...

The rivalry was somewhat rekindled this year as you swept us, but you will have to forgive us if we yawn a bit as it was your first sweep in 10 years...

In the history of this "rivalry", the skins have swept the Cowboys 4 times... nice work...

Oh... I forgot... we have swept you 14 times...

Thanks for playing...

If that was true, there wouldn't be several threads on the Commanders here as well as mentions of extremeskins.com

You look at extremeskins.com front page, not one Cowboys related thread. Hell, you may once in a blue moon see a mention of this site at ES, but once again maybe in a blue moon see CZ mentioned on ES

To say you guys don't care about this rivalry as much as we do is a joke

To quote you " I still remember how you and your followers forgot about your team during a losing team" Ever heard of Hooked on Phonics?

If their is no cba agreement,

LOL!!! One second, you're sneering at somebody else for mangling the English language; the next, you can't even figure out where to use "there" instead of "their"...

Irony, thy name is #1skinsfan...

your team will be no better your right at the cap figure currently, that means no offensive linemen to protect your "Tree" of a Qb.

WRONG!!!

You really should get yourself a clue before spouting off like that, the Boys are currently some 8 to 10 million UNDER the cap as I write this, after having cut La'Roi Glover and officially sent in Dat Nguyen's retirement papers... they have an easy 9.6 million dollars more available to them in LTBE incentives found in the contracts for Jason Ferguson and Marco Rivera...

IOW, before it's all said and done, the Boys will be 18-20 million under the cap... now, this is before they attempt to re-sign any of their own unrestricted free agents, like Dan Campbell and Scott Fujita, but the rumblings are that the Boys aren't overly concerned with letting any of them get away... if they can re-sign them for a reasonable price, they'll do so, otherwise they'll look at other options...

And think no cba means that the Boys and the Skins will spend like mad in 07.

Only there won't likely BE any quality free agents available in 2007... first off, 4th and 5th year players who would be unrestricted free agents in today's rules will now be RESTRICTED free agents, since only players with six or more years of experience would qualify for unrestricted free agency... and of course, with no salary cap to limit teams' spending, you won't find the aging, high dollar vets hitting the open market nearly as often... their old teams will just keep them around...

In a couple three years of no salary cap, you're right that the teams willing to spend will be the ones that win... and before there was a salary cap, Jerry was always one of the freest spending owners out there... I figure Danny Boy will try to emulate Jerry in this, too, since he's clearly trying to be Jerry, LOL...

It seems that you don't really understand what's going on these days... it's really quite comical, watching you imitate the Kevin Bacon character of the ROTC cadet in Animal House, getting run over by frantic parade-goers, while he frantically screams "remain calm!! All is well!!"...

Ahh...I knew I had to take a look at good ol Cowboyszone to see what they'd have to say after all the Skins restructured today.

I see a lot of jealousy. I think you guys are just mad that Parcells hasn't created the culture that Gibbs has. You guys would be creaming your collective pants if anyone on the Cowboys was stepping up to restructure their contracts. Just admit it.

I much prefer the way the Cowboys don't HAVE to have anybody "step up to restructure their contracts"...

We just like laughing at the putzes who run extremeskins, and they never fail to provide us with ample opportunity to do exactly that...

You look at extremeskins.com front page, not one Cowboys related thread.

Makes sense, since that board routinely refuses to allow Cowboys fans to even register over there... they just don't seem to care much for the Dallas Cowboys, their fans, or anything Cowboys-related...

And of course, YOU and a host of your brother Skins fans are over here, while I'M not over there... so which one of us is more obsessed with the other's team??

ummm... I don't know what to say...

Now... you will routinely see that probably over 95% of our posts have no mention of the Commanders...

So... who is obsessed? I see Cowboy fans over there attempt to enter into honest discourse... the replies are usually:
"Beet it you ****** troll"
"Crimeboys sux"
"Go back to jale"
"You are a looser"
I can't find my bong"
The spelling is about right as well...

My point is that you can believe we care about it all that you want, but to most of us it is just another rivalry as it is too one-sided to give a darn...

I agree, I have no clue where Commander fans come up with this garbage. Cowboy fans are among the most loyal out there.

Quick story....I myself began watching the Cowboys a little over 30 years ago. " dang im gettin old"...LOL From the man in the hat and Roger to todays current group, have seen em all. Its become a passion. Grew up nowhere near Texas either, in fact reside in Wisconsin. Speaking of that, believe it or not Packer fans HATE the Cowboys like no other, even more than their rival the Bears. Cowboy envy plain and simple...LOL Anyway, in my 30 plus years I have not missed ONE SINGLE game that was televised in my area, in the old days even in Wisconsin I would typically get 12 or so games a year. Now with the advent of direct TV I get them all! LOVE IT. Furthermore, I go down once a year to what I call football mecca "Dallas" and take in a game. Have gone the last 4 years now and will continue to go. I remember the first year I went and took in the stadium tour. To be able to walk out on that Star, WOW! This is where Roger played, Randy White, Drew Pearson, it was a fantastic feeling.

Point im making is this....were among the most loyal fans out there and I KNOW there are many more like me. In fact Millions more.

Hey, let's assume that the CBA does get signed & the cap goes up to $110 mil (as expected) & the skins wriggle out of this one. So what? It's just like the Yankees--think of the pleasure we (& other teams) will have out of beating them & seeing them NOT get to the Super Bowl. When was the last time the Yankees got to the World Series, no matter how many expensive players they sign? So let the Boy Blunder spend his money. It's still not getting him anything.

Besides, we have better things to think about here than them! We're starting to turn into extremeskins with their perennial focus on the Boys. Let's focus on what the Boys are doing. I'll point out that the Pats have been very successful with their formula over the past few years--cutting older expensive players no matter what the sentimental value (i.e. Glover with the Boys) & focusing on cheap smart versatile but not particularly well-known players in FA. That's the formula we need to be following (& we seem to be heading that way)--not grabbing every big name that pops out there. (Wasn't that the skins philosophy--& I don't see that it's accomplished them anything yet.)

I just look at it this way. Squeaking your way under the cap every year by restructuring everyone is only delaying the inevitable. Everyone of those dollars will eventually have to be counted under the cap, there is no getting around that. What will happen is that many old players will have big cap numbers that can't be managed and at the same time if they cut them they will have to take a large cap hit because thay have been pushing more and more bonus money every year into the future. It will catch up to them and that cannnot be argued! The key is whether or not they get anything out of it!

There are no Cowboys related threads because they are moved to the NFL Zone. The site is undeniably rife with Cowboys hate, however.

I would offer up the fact that many Skins fans have at one time or another posted comments on CZ that would be enough to get a Cowboys fan posting similarly on ES to get clowned or banned. That alone shows how much the rivalry means to Skins fans.

Finally, a preseason poll revealed that sweeping the Cowboys was almost as high a priority for ES posters as making the playoffs. That speaks volumes, and I highly doubt you would ever see such a result here.

This Cowboys fan cares about winning championships. The Skins are merely an obstacle in the path to the ultimate goal.

I'm listening to DC radio as I type this. They've already restructured Brunell, Portis, Springs and Randy Thomas, but they're still approx 15 mill over. In the meantime, they plan to release nobodies like Walt Harris, Noble, Raymer, perhaps John Hall, and Ramsey will be traded. They're praying that the owner-player squabble is rectified by Sunday, followed by a 10 mill cap increase. If they don't get that expected increase, they're screwed.

the Commanders will save over 8 mil by cutting those players. other players are talking about restructuring. it's doubtful they are screwed.

Rumor has it Tags and Snyder were actually the models for "Brokeback Mountain":p:

Kidding aside...Snyder seems to be a pretty astute owner (he always was a good businessman) who has learned from his mistakes. I think he's doing a lot of things right these days and it's beginning to pay off. We'll see how it goes over the next few years.

Unlike some others, I think the CBA is a done deal and I also think the CBA, while good for the NFL as a whole, has been bad and is bad now for the Cowboys.
