and give him a chance to show he's different.

Let him prove himself.

It's not like fans have to prove themselves to him.

It's quite the other way around.

Perhaps I am wrong for immediately assuming he's gonna be the same person he's always been.

Actually, you are right for assuming that TO will be the same person. He is 32, he hasnt changed one bit since he has been in football. The people that are wrong are the ones that think TO is going to have some miracle change of heart, quit being a greedy SOB and actually care about the objectives of the team.

You know I don't believe there is a coach in the NFL (or ever was one) that can control TO.

But.. if there is one, it would be Bill Parcells.

And that's the last hope I'm clinging on to that this thing will work out.

I agree Rack. There is no doubt in my mind that if Parcells thinks he can control the guy, he can.

My concern is, length and terms of the contract (if it happens) and how long Parcells is going to be around.

The damn contract should have a Parcells clause. "Parcells leaves, so do you Mr Owens" ;)

Exactly.

This is a classic matter of hope in one hand, (blank) in the other and see which one fills up first.

I think we'd all end up with a hand full of doodoo, but we can all hope it doesn't turn out that way.

I'm not expecting, or even hoping, that TO is an Angel while in Dallas. I know he won't be. I am just hoping he is controlled just enough to keep the really bad stuff from coming up. If I ever hear TO call out a teammate while he's in Dallas, things will get bad.

As of right now the Dallas Cowboys are on chemotherapy. Let's hope it works.

OH I know that...but I really am trying to extend benefit of the doubt...in spite of how much I can't stand the guy.

Plus, when you're an old guy like me...you realize that 32 leaves LOTS of room for change.

Raw deal? He got a 7 year $45 million from the Eagles. Raw deal?

C'mon Juke...the NFLPLA told him not to sign it.
It was a bad deal and his agent at the time must have been beyond moron.
Had it been a decent deal,he would've been better behaved.

TO did sign it. Who cares? It was good enough for him to sign at the time. The TO apologists are sickening.

So him calling out his teammates was only cuz his kids were starving?

And whether the NFLPA told him to sign it or not is irrelevant. He DID sign it, and he should of honored it.

He's never been behaved.

And ya know, not for nothing, perhaps he personifies what is wrong with sports today...but when someone can see those kinda numbers as being a bad deal, geeez, things are out of control

It reminds me of the beating Patrick Ewing took in New York for saying, when the players were threatening to strike, "I have to feed my family." This from a guy who was making $10 million a year for throwing a ball through a hoop.

I've seen seals do that. :D

The biggest reason I don't want him here is cuz of the way he calls out his teammates through the media.

If they are mature then they should be able to handle the truth.

Rack said:
Even if he really thinks Garthia is Gay there is no excuse for going to the media and saying it.

But he IS gay and TO wanted out, the 49ers never paid him like they should have, like he deserved to be paid and were even taking him out of games in key situations and third downs, so he wouldn't "make them look bad". That's low down for an organization, just cut the player, what a bunch of lozers in Fagland.

Rack said:
Even if he felt McNabb got tired in the superbowl, you don't go out and say it in the media.

But he DID act like he was sick, he DID turn into McChoke and if TO wouldn't have said it, the info would have still leaked out eventually. From gues who, another teammate that's who. TO was man enough to state the truth, for me that is a refreshing thing most cannot or will not stand up and do in todays politically correct atmosphere.

Rack said:
Even if he thought Favre was/is a better QB then McFlabb, keep it to yourself.

Saying that a QB is less talanted than Brett Farve is a put down? I think that is about as ignorant as McChoke taking it as racism, black on black crime is how he put it. What kind of weak minded person is McChoke? No one who doesn't takes things like this childishness in stride like an adult is anymore mature than where it aws comming from.

No instead of being mature, the leader of the team tries to make it into somthing more than it was....actually he made it into a circus and destroyed that team, not TO.

My god, the TO apologizing has reached a fever pitch here tonight.

About Garcia, TO is wrong, end of story. Not to mention Garcias Playmate of the Year girlfriend. Who is TO's significant other?

Talking bad about your QB while you are still on the team is wrong. End of story.

You blame McNabb for not being mature while defending the most immature person in the NFL? Hilarious.

There is always more than one side of the story, TO has been demonized and his side is hidden from the reality of most on lookers. Do you even know his side of the situations? Do you even care?

Terrell is percieved as a bad guy thru the media, he has been absolutley and literally rail roaded by two of our most rivaled organizations. Sure some of it was his fault, but don't be untrue to yourselves, there is fault to spread around, there were intracacies to the situations, things are more complicated than just TO destroyed two franchises!.....49ers were going down hill fast and the Eagles had to be lacking in team chemistry already, losing 4 Championship games in a row. Cowboys fans should know how frustrating that was from the Danny White days.
