The fact of the matter is that Jerry is in the right here. All he wants is for ALL 32 owners to have the ability to vote on Rogers compensation. Yes they did all vote in May to re up Roger, BUT everything has changed since that vote. Roger has truly ef'd up since then and all of the owners should have a chance to now rehash all of this, not just the 4 members on the comp committee.

$50m per year + lifetime healthcare + lifetime jet certainly deserves the vote and approval of all 32 owners. Seems to make mucho sense to me.

You want to see the death of the NFL? Just try to take the Cowboys away from Jerry. That war would make what we have seen so far look like a picnic.

Exactly. And this mention only serves to fan the flames. Battle line will now be drawn and things will only get worse for the league.

Goodall obviously doesn't like to be challenged in any way and thinks he's bigger than the NFL owners. His ridiculous demands while the NFL burns are proof enough of that.

I know Jerry Jones has many faults and failings, but Goodell represents everything that's wrong with the NFL.

Any NFL under him is something that this fan doesn't want any part of.

I support Jerry Jones all the way in this battle.

Would another owner have a chance of buying/taking over or Cowboys are out of league and down to 31 teams? Otherwise, Win-win, gets JJ outta here albeit in the most infamous way possible to date.

It would be separating Jones from the Cowboys team ownership. It wouldn't be taking the team out of the league.

But there's zero chance of it ever happening. They'll have to pry the Cowboys from Jerry's cold, dead, hands.

If they couldn't do it with Al Davis, there's zero chance against Jerry Jones. In a head-to-head comparison between he and Roger Goodell, Jones is a saint.

Tbh no matter how I see JJ as an obstacle I would support him 100. I know I was pokin fun but appreciate the actual info (was unclear). I like JJ personally and know his greatest attribute can be his worse; wants to personalize his business as a GM to his players. He's got a heart in there which is more than you can say for most billionaires.

To the extent this leak came from Goodell and his allies, it might well be a tactical blunder. Do 32 owners really want to get behind the idea that the commissioner has the power to force any one of them to sell? Particularly over a dispute regarding the commissioner's power/compensation? Would any owner other than Goodell's staunchest allies want to open that can of worms? I have my doubts. The NFL is pushing back against Jones. But it might be playing into his hands.

And despite his flaws, he's good for the league and his fellow owners. Unlike Goodell, he's actually made them richer. Goodell and his administration are running this thing into the ground, and killing the golden goose along the way.

The NFL was a license to print money until this clown took over.

He's a disgrace to the office.

I want him gone yesterday, and if this thing continues, I'll be looking for ways to picket and boycott. NFL fans look like fools right now doing nothing in the face of what that guy is doing. "Screw 'em, they'll just take it and hand over their hard earned money like idiots." "Oh, and give me a raise and a jet too!"

This is a shot across the bow for Jerry. That's all this could ever be IMO. Jerry is 75 years old. If the NFL ever seriously decided to try and do this, it would take 20 years in court and there is no guarantee that they would ever win. Jerry would be 95 by then and long since departed from football operations. What this really means is a message to Jerry about the future of his children in football.

This thing has no legs, period, end of subject.

Though it has no shot of happening, I have to ask.

Would it really be the worse thing that happened to us Cowboys fans?

Jerry has created a team with little accountability, sub par coaches and mediocre talent. Yea, he has built an amazing BRAND, but what fan really cares about that.

We found recently Goodell comes from nepotism and is wo any pedigree which explains a lot about his bloated sense of self and expectations of his worth. Obviously I hate his handling of Zeke by ruining his reputation, revoking his SB, and destroying any real chance of Zeke being seen in a positive light during his career outside of football production.

It was a personal vendetta (or enough owners) that anyone outside of diehards like us see as justified (unf uphill battle) and non fans have already made their decision in public opinion on Zeke as a result. We feel railroaded as Cowboy fans but get less sympathy being the most loved and hated franchise in the league.

I never liked Goodell like most fans (just hear the boos from fans in the crowd every draft day) but also feel like owners are getting involved wondering if it's not their time to have these #1 slots on TV? Old money don't like new money; JJ is new money.

In my opinion, the NFL needs to be very careful here. Competition from a new startup league just might work now. If the Cowboys and a few other teams were to leave and add new, exciting teams (maybe Toronto, Mexico City, Vancouver, Oklahoma City, etc), it might just work. I wouldn't bet against Jerry if the NFL starts playing hardball with him. Take away the Cowboys and the NFL's ratings would plummet.

There’s no way it would.

Some people are way over-estimating the value of the Cowboys to the NFL. And the Cowboys wouldn’t be gone anyway...just JJ

It’s a moot point....this is just BS posturing between JJ and the other owners. Nothing is going to come from this. I guess we’ll see.

Well I don't know. Who would be responsible for finding our new owner? Goodell? Mara? We could end up with the crap they have in Cleveland.

Maybe, but if you spend $4 to $6 billion on a high profile team, you would think they would want to win.

Could it get much worse than the last 23 years with Jerry?
