Rape-lisberger is getting a free pass, no doubt.

How is he getting a free pass? If he is then i guess Warren Sapp is also.
So how should he be treated? Because someone accused him of something that he hasnt been found guilty of he should be banished? What punishment does a person deserve for getting accused?

until Ben Roethlisberger breaks a, as described by Jerry Jones while holding up his hand as a visual example, a "little glass umbrella", he'll never be as thug as Pacman.

Maybe "lifestyle-ism" but not racism.

If Ben acted like a moronic gang banger ..... he would face the same scrutiny.

Tiger woods is (kinda) black ...... and he was given the benefit of doubt for a decade.
Tiger Woods???

Look, I don't agree with what Tiger did, but he's not a criminal (alleged or otherwise). I fail to see how's he's been given some "benefit of a doubt."

Interesting replies...thanks for sharing...certainly Pacman had a much longer list of problems, but for the two guys who didn't think Roethlisberger had been in trouble before, you'd be surprised. You can find it on the internet, and it will be talked about more and more in the media...this is not the first time Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual inappropriateness, to keep it soft. There have been settlements before...that's why there is talk in the media about whether the Rooney's will finally say enough is enough and cut ties with him. Roethisberger has been protected, imo.

As for the poster who thinks Pacman deserves a worse rap because he's an outspoken jerk and Ben is more dignified....I find that supports some of the gray area in my original question. It's cultural to a degree. I don't care how the guy talks or represents himself...that's free speech...the issue is that Ben's history suggests that he may be a total creep who has been protected moreso than someone else with less money and help.

Sure its free speech to say what you want. Its his freedom of expression to carry himself like a lowlife. He is free to act however he wants. And people are free to say he is a thug. The reality is we know if we act, dress, talk, look a certain way then people will think we are that way. Maybe they are right maybe they are wrong. But you do it as much as everyone else does. It may be wrong that the good looking person gets the job more often than the overweight ugly person but its life. We choose how we come across to people. When a person plays the thug role they want people to think they are "hard". But the other side of that hard tough guy look is that people will treat you like a hard, tough guy. And whether you think its right or not when you dress yourself up like a group of thugs you should expect to be treated like one, both good and bad.

Its not just a racial thing. A person of any color that is well dressed, well spoken, and respectful will be given the benefit of the doubt at times. If you want people to respect you then you need to carry yourself that way. If you choose to play a thug then you cant cry when you are treated like a thug.

I think at this point it's abundantly clear he at least deserves a punch in the nuts.

Maybe by traditional rules he didnt break any laws.... But he did break a law of common sense.. He cheated down. You never cheat down.. All his skanks were nothing compared to Elin...

Whats even worse...Jesse James. He really cheated down. His cheated on sandra bullock with a bunch of body tat wearing porn stars...eww

I'm kidding of course. No cheating is condoned at all.:)

And Michael Irvin is getting a free pass. He was recently accused, has a history and was actually charged with stuff in the past.

The OP is comparing Pacman to Roethlisberger and asking if Ben has not been subjected to that type of scrutiny because he's white.

Pacman has a long criminal history. Ben has had criminal accusations levied against him by two victims, but has not been charged.

As far as I'm aware Tiger has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing. I fail to see how he's relevant to Ben and Pacman. Perhaps you could explain it to me.

I still think Ben has about eight more run-ins with the police to match Pacman. That's the thing that makes Pacman "Pacman." It's the sheer volume of arrests/police inquiries. There's a boatload of black players who have had a few run-ins with the law yet they're not the butt of jokes. Same with white guys. Pacman is in a category all to himself.

With that said, Roethlisberger appears to be a sleazy, creepy dirtbag with some predator qualities in him.

You can have whatever opinion of him you want for cheating. I'm certainly not condoning his cheating. But there are a lot of differences in Tiger's scenario and these two knuckleheads.

I think there are actually two or three aspects to the argument that Ben is getting off easy... 1) he has yet to face criminal charges, and he might not ever face them; 2) he has yet to face any kind of disciplinary action from Goodell for this, which IMO stems from the fact he hasn't been charged; 3) he is getting less scrutiny in the court of public opinion than Pacman did.

Tiger is not going to face criminal charges for cheating, so I don't see how he's relevant here. And the PGA is entirely different from the NFL, so there's another difference. But for sure, Tiger has had his public image shredded.

But overall, I think if comparing Pacman to Ben is an apples to oranges comparison because of the length of their rapsheets, then comparing Tiger to these two yahoos is like comparing apples to elephants.

Big Ben had to submit a DNA sample... he is done! The Media is not going to cover it bc he is a NFL hero, the NFL will protect the shield and if that means calling espn and telling them to "cool it", anyone think ESPN has the guts to run with a story that may not be true?

yes racism still exist... just ask anyone who lived in the 60's!

...and I think the forum has placed many good opinions on this topic here the only thing in common in my opinion between Pacman and Roethlisberger is stupidity.

Pacman has expressed it up to (13) times and after Ben's latest rounds of accusations and possible history of incidents involving women both of them can be labeled dumber than a sack of hammers for what has happened in their last media revelations.

Everyone wants to have a life, but with the type of generational wealth they have enjoyed why do they have to play with fire?

Couldn't you just party with friends and not go out in public? What's wrong with a hotly contested game of "Scrabble"? ;) And if you go out how about no booze or women allowed. Maybe a movie, maybe some bowling.

It's sad that the situation for both may eventually end up leading to a end to their careers. If I was the Rooneys I wouldn't be happy right now.
