Deion may be a Cowboy, but he's an obnoxious ***, too.
I can't stand the guy. I actually like TO more, which is saying something.

I may be in the minority, but I can't stand Deion Sanders acting like he's got the keys to Valley Ranch, and that he's one of the most loved Cowboys in our history.

Outside of his first season with the Cowboys, I can't see that he was anything but a highly paid 'bust'- because he spent more time on the sidelines than in the games.

And, I can't stand the way he set T.O. up in 2006 on National Television for his interview when T.O. spit in D'Angelo Hall's face. Deion set T.O. up by quesioning him on national television, and he's the reason T.O. got fined.

He claimed he loved T.O. like a little brother, and then offered him up as a sacrifice for his ratings on the NFL network.

Hall was a crybaby, and Deion helped him distract attention from the fact that T.O. ate his lunch all night.

And, Deion seems to think that he is one of the most loved Cowboys ever- when he gave us one decent year, and got a ring in return for it.

As far as I can see, Dallas doesn't owe him anything- and I wish he'd quit acting like he's a Cowboy- when his pass interference against Irvin knocked us out of the third Super Bowl in a row, and we had to come back the next year.

But for all of his hype, I still see Deion Sanders as a Falcon/49'er who came here and helped for one year-which is probably why he sat on both sides of the fence when he helped D'Angelo Hall cover for the whipping he took at the hands of T.O.

Just a rant. It's the off season.

:damn:

I don't resent his 'primetime' image.

I thought it was an excellent marketing strategy by a college kid.

If you look at his production, his interceptions diminished after the first year here.

To me- and this is my opinion only- he never achieved after his first year here in Dallas.

But, I don't deny his ability. I don't deny he knows the game.

It's just a personal issue I have with some of the things he's said in commentary, and especially the deal with T.O..

"It's just a personal issue." I think that says it all, particularly when you say "he never achieved after his first year in Dallas." After his first year in Dallas: four straight Pro Bowls, three consecutive first-team consensus All Pro awards. Of course his interceptions went down while in Dallas--nobody would throw his way.

Sanders is, arguably, the best cover corner in the history of the league, Inarguably, he's at minimum in the top three corners who ever laced up. Just for the record, run us out some highlights of how many times he was burned for TDs while in Dallas.

I know somebody here--AdamJT13, perhaps?--has access to stats regarding how many times opponents threw at Sanders during his years in Dallas. If it can be shown that his relatively low INT totals were NOT related to how few times opponents threw at him, I'll be happy to eat my words and accept your premise that he was a worse corner in Dallas than before he became a Cowboy.

I say he is a Cowboy and will always be one in my opinion.

Yeah me too... and I still wear his old 'Boys jersey too when I'm feeling a little nostalgic.

Most people forget that we signed him not only because he was a great corner & special teamer, but also to get him away from the 49ers.

He played an important role in getting us back and winning the Superbowl, so that definitely makes him a real Cowboy.

I'm sure Deion is shaking in his boots, or about to jump off of the AAC right about now.

Well I wouldnt expect him to care what I think. I was just saying as I have many times, I dont like the guy. Its my opinion and thats all. I am not saying other people do not have to like him or shouldnt, just that I dont.

Same old bunch. If they don't like your opinion, they label you a troll.

And, for the record, everyone knows that Deion making the pro-bowl was virtually automatic the last two or three years- but his stats didn't necessarily back it up.

And, guys- for the record- a troll is a fan of another team that comes in and hijacks threads and tries to disrupt a forum just for the fun of it.

It's amazing how many people will hijack a thread- and call someone else the troll.................Pot- meet kettle.

Hey, I can respect his stats- and I've said he's a top notch athelete. But, I'm only going on my memories of his tenure in Dallas, and there's a reason why Jerry didn't re-sign him afterwards.

And, I'll acknowledge his stats, but you should be fair and acknowledge that what he did to Terrell Owens after the Atlanta game was a cheap shot just for his own benefit.

T.O. got a huge fine because Deion offered him up as a sacrifice by questioning him on camera, and not helping him to downplay it.

If that is Cowboys blood running through his veins, then the Cowboys blood is blood that causes one Cowboy to sacrifice another for his own benefit.

T.O. just came off of a game where he scored two touchdowns, and the Cowboys got a big win. What does Sanders do? Instead of recognizing that he's still pumped and thinking about the game, Sanders takes a shot to improve his status with the NFL network.

And, for the record, Hall didn't deserve any sympathy; he was the one who initiated the confrontation, and then tattled like a little baby to get the attention off of his failures to contain T.O..

Who cares if Hall lost respect for T.O.? Who cares if T.O. spit in his face? IF Hall hadn't been up in his face, he wouldn't have gotten spit on.

Guys, like deon or not, he was a important part to our last Super Bowl.

Remember he was the 49's highered gun in "94" (the year they circumvented the cap :(). So addition by subtraction was needed in "95" to ensure our run at our #1 nemeses at the time(the Whiners).

Once here, he proved to be a "Cowboy" both on and off the field.

For better or worst, I think he is a "Cowboy" for life. Some necessities in life just rub some the wrong way.

I agree that Deion was important to our last Super Bowl win. There's no denying that. He had an outstanding season that year.

After that, though, he may have simply tried to do too much. He began to get involved with the offense, and then turf toe sidelined him a lot.

I just didn't see that we benefitted from having him after the first year. We didn't win a lot, and we didn't gain any more Super Bowl rings.

And, I can't say that Deion is the only reason we won a Super Bowl that year. We probably would have won without him, and probably should have won the previous year while he was with San Francisco- except for the non-call on pass interference, and the three turnovers early that put us way behind.

No one questions that he is an impact player; but if he wants to be remembered as a Cowboy, then he should stick with his loyalties, and not be a part of the roasting of one of our stars.

I don't go for this "holier than thou" atitude, as if he's the reason that Adam Jones will be a success in Dallas. Adam Jones was a success in Tennessee, and if the Michael Vick story had broken 4 months sooner, Jones would have never been suspended.

Deion and Jerry Jones are still close and yes Deion thinks of himself as a Cowboy. I have no problem with that

Deion did his job that night with T.O. He asked him a straight up question - how in the world is that setting him up. You are a joke!!

By the way, I trhink it says a lot for Jerry how well TO has done here and how Deion wants Dallas to be considered his team. Jerry really makes his stars feel at home and comfortable and in the end they really pay him back .

Jerry is there for his guys even on a personal level. When guys had some emergency it was Jerry offering to fly them home in his personal Jet. Jerry office door was and is open to the guys and not just on matter of business and that was part of the speech Irvin gave during his Hall Of Fame induction speech.

I will bet you everything I own that he doesn't.

I don't see Deion giving any of his former teams/stop off's the amount of love that he gives the Cowboys.

Well I dont know about all that stuff in that post.

But I loathe Deion Sanders more than any athlete in the history of sports. The day he was off our roster was a great day.

I agree with you Theebs, I despise MEion and wish he would just go away and stay away.
