Someone should tell Deion he's not a Cowboy

I may be in the minority, but I can't stand Deion Sanders acting like he's got the keys to Valley Ranch, and that he's one of the most loved Cowboys in our history.

Outside of his first season with the Cowboys, I can't see that he was anything but a highly paid 'bust'- because he spent more time on the sidelines than in the games.

And, I can't stand the way he set T.O. up in 2006 on National Television for his interview when T.O. spit in D'Angelo Hall's face. Deion set T.O. up by quesioning him on national television, and he's the reason T.O. got fined.

He claimed he loved T.O. like a little brother, and then offered him up as a sacrifice for his ratings on the NFL network.

Hall was a crybaby, and Deion helped him distract attention from the fact that T.O. ate his lunch all night.

And, Deion seems to think that he is one of the most loved Cowboys ever- when he gave us one decent year, and got a ring in return for it.

As far as I can see, Dallas doesn't owe him anything- and I wish he'd quit acting like he's a Cowboy- when his pass interference against Irvin knocked us out of the third Super Bowl in a row, and we had to come back the next year.

But for all of his hype, I still see Deion Sanders as a Falcon/49'er who came here and helped for one year-which is probably why he sat on both sides of the fence when he helped D'Angelo Hall cover for the whipping he took at the hands of T.O.

Just a rant. It's the off season.
Your memory isn't very good at all.The only year he wasn't really good was in 1999,his last year, after having off-season toe surgery. Before he hurt the toe in the middle of the 98 season he was on his way to being defensive player of the year. The last part of that season was the only time he wasn't out on the field. As far as I'm concerned,he is,and always will be a Cowboy.

Deon's showboat attitude made me dislike him when he played for the Falcons and especially when he helped the 49ers win another SuperBowl.

When he came to the Cowboys, I loved me some Deon. :)

In this day of free agency, it's kind of hard to take exception to someone who played somewhere else.

To me, there are players like T.O., who shows his love for the franchise, and hardly anyone would doubt that he's a Cowboy at heart.

I really never got that feeling with Deion- partly because he had won a Super Bowl with San Francisco the previous year, and it didn't seem after the game as if it meant as much to him as it did the rest of the Cowboys.

Maybe it's just a personal thing to me- and maybe it is a lingering disappointment from that era, as the Cowboys greatest team ever sunk back to mediocracy under Gaily and then Campo.

It was a hard 7 or 8 years for Cowboys fans to see what was once the greatest team in the history of the game become just a 9-7 team- and then a 5-11 team.

I think what really got me with Sanders was the T.O. spitting incident, and how that was handled- coupled with what I thought was disappointing years while he was here.

But, let me make this clear- There was no doubt he was one of-if not the- best ever cornerbacks to ever play the game.

My issues are merely my issues- but I think some here see what I was talking about.

Although I cringe every time he opens his mouth. IMO he is a Cowboy and will be remembered as one of our greats. Not up there with the Tripletts but he is a Cowboy.

Let me explain to you guys why Deion Sanders will be associated with the Cowboys more than he will with the Falcons, 49ers, Commanders, and Ravens. It's really a simple reason.

Because people hated his showboating and they associate showboating with the hated Dallas Cowboys.

He's a Cowboy.

The interceptions thing is bogus. As it's pointed out, more than once in this thread, you ARE NOT going to get loads of INT's when NO ONE THROWS AT YOU.

Deion got the ball thrown in his direction 2 times, maybe 3, in a game if he was lucky. Teams stopped even looking at his side of the field because they didn't view throwing to his side as an option.

The fact that people actually tailored game plans around the idea of not even looking at one side of the field to me is WAY better than a few extra INT's ever would have been.

I agree. Deion was able to take away 1/2 of the field from the QB as seldom they looked his way which allowed Dallas to provide help on the other side. The toe injury was a killer for Deion
