Something eerily similar between Lance and Dak

I don’t know if Lance will be any good or not. There is a chance he just has something missing and he won’t ever make it. There is also a chance that he does make it because he definitely has good physical traits.

However, one thing that I won’t do is look at a YouTube video made by a fan saying that Lance is a bust, and take that for anything other than what it is. Those guys can cherry pick plays to “prove” whatever point they’re trying to make. They can pull out some plays showing the player is good… and then another person come along making a video showing the opposite by pulling out different plays.

It is all about verifying the video makers opinion, and that is what they do. Objectivity is absolutely not the video makers driving force, and they are alway pandering to their target audience. They also are human and have their own built in bias that can skew the content they put out.

I have seen a ton of real NFL people make mistakes on players. If Jimmy Johnson could let a Jimmy Smith leave because he can’t play and then Smith go on to huge success at another franchise… then I am 100% not taking a YouTube content creator as the final judge of Lance’s ability as an NFL QB.

Plenty of people who evaluate young players for a living for billion dollar franchises miss every season. That is why we have to wait to see how the next couple of seasons play out before we make any judgements on Trey Lance.

Here is another great video from the same “content creator”.

I hear your point… But this guy actually does a pretty decent job breaking down film and play design concepts. He also comes back and admits when he sees something comes to pass that he didn’t think would. There’s a similar video out there regarding Hurts… he had significant doubts in the beginning… And then there are a couple more to show where he was surprised at the degree of his development

So he was wrong about Justin Herbert coming out of college… He developed. He was also wrong about Jalen Hurts… He also developed. Even in this video, he doesn’t say all hope is lost for Trey Lance. His point of this video is that he has not developed at all in three years in the NFL. The others did. He is three years in and he is still making elementary read mistakes.

Pretty big difference

You are a clown . . . Now I am a KM fan Boy . . . what a joke

Cmon man you created a thread suggesting we can throw Lance in and get Dak light at worse. Then you credit KM for Dak reading defenses. Listen to what all the players have said all camp. KMs scheme was slowing them down and often comprising the qb/wr being on the same page.

You ignored the fact Dak put together an excellent rookie campaign and Lance has floundered.

I'm 100% for Lance but statements like yours are way beyond where Lance is. I'll embrace him as a blue chip prospect and hope, unlike the niners we can develop him and take advantage of those tools. There is no guarantee whatsoever, and to believe he is a top 10 qb at worst is flat stupid OR agenda driven hate against the actual qb1.

It certainly could play out that way if Dak keeps pushing Jerry's buttons. Dak had best appreciate and repay the Cowboys with a discount the way Jerry previously stepped up and paid him big bucks 2 seasons ago. If not, guaranteed Dak won't be a Cowboy much longer......no matter how he performs in 2023.

Why should Dak do anything like that? Let’s be real we’ve been lucky to go from Romo to Dak and this team still be competitive. When Dak went down with the ankle we all witnessed how important he was. I’m not gonna take anything away from Rush he do a fine job filling in for 3-5 games. But this O is way more explosive with Dak. He should not be giving any discounts.

Dude is gonna have one of those super efficient years in 2023 like Romo did 14.

Knock it off you are better then that.

This is an opinion formed by watching countless hours of Dak . . . we will see how things pan out this year

If Dak does have the ability to read defenses it will show in this new defense

Good luck Dak . . . Sink or Swim
Watched countless hours…yes, but with what in mind. Being unbiased or biased one way or the other

He cherry picks to make his points just like other people do on YouTube.

You cannot use his video for proof of anything.

I’ll just wait a couple of years and see where Lance is then… which is what everybody else should do.

The most damning evidence we have on Lance is that Shanahan let him go… which is what you were saying. But even that doesn’t mean that he’ll fail. The opportunity for Lance is there, if he can take it.

But we won’t know for a while.

I think the next franchise QB is in College or High School for Dallas. It would be great for Lance to be that guys since he's in house, but I'm skeptical. I just believe Dallas needs a Top Guy from HS thru College to the Pros like Aikman. For example: Arch Manning type of prospect.
Me too. I'm tired of our these developmental QBs.

He didn’t have to do much cherry picking. He was basically going play after play after play. If it makes you feel better to claim this guy is just pulling crap out of his backside, feel free. Anyone familiar with football 101 could see his points were valid.

But you’re right, the most damning evidence is Shanahan thinking he’s a lost cause. And I’m not sure how he gets better by just sitting there and watching. That’s what he has been doing…and it hasn’t worked.

maybe Shanahan is sold on Purdy and did not want to put pressure on Purdy by keeping the previous first-round pick quarterback. Darnold is not going to pressure Purdy, he's there to be a backup and learn. All speculations but shrugs, it could be.

Dak already got his huge payday contract. He should return the Cowboys the favor. It would help the team sign other younger key pieces and keep the team very competitive. A win for Dak if he wants to continue being a Cowboy into his 30s.

Dak can read defenses bro. Daks strength is his mental ability. His problem is his raw physical talent. He isn't a natural arm talent like some of his peers but he worked his *** off to fix his footwork and mechanics. Which is why a weakness in college he got better at when it comes to accuracy.
One of the best assessments ever on this forum about Dak. Too many fans, even his supporters, don't know how smart of a player he really is. They fixate on a couple mistakes across a couple games and base everything off of it.

Lance lost is job because he broke his ankle and Jimmy G took over. Purdy came in after Jimmy G hurt his foot. Purdy actually became the starter like Dak did for the Cowboys. Let’s not make up lies or false narratives about Lance. He lost his job mainly because of injury and Purdy got on a hot streak and took the 49ers to the NFC championship.
Not only that the 49ers are a win-now team and Lance needs time to develop. Shanny pulled the plug on Lance whenever he could because he couldn't afford a few losses while Lance took his lumps.

Though Purdy was a late round pick with less physical talent, he played a LOT more college football and was more prepared for the NFL than Lance.

I think Lance’s story is similar to Romo gets injured then some kid with limitations but college experience excels and takes your job.
Trey Lance was picked 3rd overall and started like 4 games and got traded because he has flopped pretty hard to begin his career.

Romo was a UDFA that turned into an NFL starter for nearly a decade.

They are absolutely nothing alike.

They are similar because they both have psychotic fans that are a Cult

And the only flaw in Lance's game is what Dak struggles with to this day

Kellen and his Come Back routes are gone and Dak is gonna sink without him

Let The Lance Era begin
Is make believe a psychosis?

Shanahan had no choice but to go with Purdy last season. Jimmy G and Lance both were out.with injuries. I wonder if Shanahan will bench Purdy for Darnold if he struggles.

And Dak couldn't hit him in stride or a back shoulder. Then Dez complained about being open and wanting the ball and dak cried to Jerry. then he was gone...

his route running sucked too, but shakey couldn't find him
Oh, look! A back shoulder throw for a TD from Dak to Dez...

Wow, look! Another back shoulder throw for a TD from Dak to Dez...

Oh, look! Another back shoulder throw for a TD from Dak to Dez...

Once again...another back shoulder throw for a TD from Dak to Dez...

Now show you some in stride throws from Dak to Dez? Look, pay attention!

Oh, look! Dak's very first NFL career passing TD was a throw in stride to Dez for a TD...

https://youtu.be/sVW1XC42Gn0?si=bQPcmIh2x55VRepM

One more time...WATCH...so many in stride and back shoulder throws from Dak to Dez, from Dak to Cole Beasley and from Dak to Butler.

https://youtu.be/jsszUV_mBLs?si=r-P-TP75d8bLwrEP

Just stop with the BS already. Nothing but lies and trollish behavior. The tapes/videos don't lie.
