Something isn't right

I wonder sometimes what a healthy Romo could have accomplished with Dak's 2016 o'line and Zeke at RB. Romo caught a ton of crap, and some of it was deserved, but Jerry failed to build a competent team around him for his entire career.
Mostly.
2007 had pretty good balance overall, but a bit old.
That was only his 1st full year starting though.
13-3 and inches (a Crayton broken route that would’ve won it) from hosting the NFC title game
Oh well...

Its only a few people.
You're making way too much out of a small fraction of opinions.

To be fair, We did have a short stretch last year of some of the worst performances by our offense in Cowboy history. Record settingly bad stuff.
I dont think its personal.

Some are worried that was not a mirage.

Many of the rest of us (including me) see Dak and the offense bouncing back.
:flagwave:

I sill say this; until recently, I very rarely heard “bad coaching” as an excuse for a QB. It seems to be a blanket excuse now, and it worrisome.
And even with injuries, we still had a better oline last year than most teams ever have.

Anyway, QBs dont have won-loss records....teams do.

Here's to hoping that The TEAM (with Dak as QB) has a great 2018 season.
Well said The rational non-reactive response. Difficult to be an objective fan for most of us. I am as guilty as most for instant gratification.

I am not just talking about this forum. I am talking about the fanbase outside of forums too. I have alot of cowboys buddies I hang at sports bars with, co workers who are cowboy fans as well as misselanious sports talk with other strangers here and there and more views on dak are damn near the same.

I for one want to know why.

Last week I had a Bills fan observe my cowboys wrist band at a coffee shop and he told me in his opinion dak doesnt seem to be as big of a fan favorite as in his first year and he wanted my opinion on why.

I kept it simple and told him I cant speak for my fellow fans but dak will be ok.

A freaking Bills fan. What **** does a bills fan know. I live in freakin maryland. Where in the **** does a bills fan appear from.

Anyway it's not just the forums. It's becoming a forum, social media and physical form trend. You dont have to believe it but I know what I read, see and how I converse with others about sports over the weeks and months and this whole thing is baffling to me.

Bro...just check out thread pages 5100-5104 on this forum. Quincy was getting a smack down.

Oooh thread page 5097 has some mean threads...”I’m tired of the qb scenario “ is a juicy one

You are correct a lot of people outside the forum, in social media, sports analysts and commentators, fans from other teams DO NOT believe in Dak as an elite qb.

Why? Well heck..even the fan base isn’t sold on him. Opinions on Dak very from junky to bus driver, to all world elite

I have been a fan for a really really REALLY long time. I have seen some of the best and worse come and go.

I have also been on many forums going as far back as the old ESPN forums of the late 90's early 2000's.

I have never, and I mean never witnessed the trashing of any terrible players I can remember years back the way Dak has received as of late.

And we are talking about not only a guy who had a great 1st season but a guy that TECHNICALLY still had a second winning season(9 wins) despite zekes suspension, bad coaching and getting killed because of oline injuries.

I believe most made Romo the exception and fans turned the other cheek on romos flaws for so many years, and the man is damn near a home town hero without having contributed to a single piece of hardware.

We now dak can throw the ball, we seen amazing accuracy and down field passing in 16. We know he can win without a star wideout, he did it without an injured Dez. And we know he can hold his own without an oline and decent RB, he scrapped together 9 wins last year, cassell and weeden would have never even made it close to 9 in the same situation.

The guy took an *** whipping last year and the coaches refused to help him or make adjustments and a lot of you leaned on the "exposed" instead of seeing the real problem or the WHOLE picture.

This fan base is turning weird. It seems more like a lot of fans are looking forward to failure just to have an I told you moment then actually being excited about football.

I believe Dak will have his fair share of 3-4 td passing with a couple rushing td games, and will still have those fans waiting up till the 2min warning of the 4th QTR, for dak to throw that INT just to get their fix.

So I want to know right now. What makes Dak(who has 2 winning seasons under his belt, no matter how you want to spin that 2nd season) any different from the other slew of crappy *** players who have received nothing but slaps in the wrist from fans over the years?

I can go back to the end of the aikman era for a proper begining and don't remember one player that got this kind of treatment.

I for one won't accept the Dak got exposed excuse any longer. And the he isn't Romo excuse is damn near laughable because we all know how that goes.

Fan base is fine is just that you forget they have Eye's and most have been watching football for many years and pretty much know talent when they see it.....currently like myself WE ARE NOT SOLD ON DAK!!!
For many reason from his inaccurate passes to his horrendous footwork, not to mention his Panic Attack ways when pressured and his inept downfield vision. Don't underestimate the intelligence of the fan base trust me they know a good thing when they see it i.e. Zeke. Is there any debating happening for Zeke in these forums? Does anyone post that he doesn't have what it takes? NO ...cause the TALENT is there!
Dak Prescott is a BUS DRIVER bud and without Zeke and 300 million of our BEEF off-line no one would even know his name.
His 15 min are almost up and it will occur this coming season ....Dak will explode to the bench as the pressure will simply be overwhelming for him...unfortunately for all of us....

It's well know how I feel about this issue. It's preposterous.
They see faults in his two year game and they want someone better then the ROTY .
Thank you for noting.

:muttley::muttley::muttley:

This is just a Dak boy vs anti Dak thread.
Nothing is gonna be resolved until the season ends. But once it does, I can see a lot of peeps hiding from one side and gloating from the other.

He's in the middle for me so I'll still be around. Laterzzzz

Can we get a measure on what a really, really, REALLY long time is?
The OP's profile says he (or she, no offense) is 32 years old.
It's a little weird reading "in all my years" from a 32 yr old.

No intent of malice here. It just struck me as funny.

The bashing needs to be directed at the coaching. Better coaching should, at the very least, put the players in a better position to succeed. Garrett and his staff fail at this at every turn.

Bellycheat hasn't always had the best roster or talent, but he knows how get the most out of what he is given. Thats the biggest difference between him and Garrett. One is a coach while the other is a cheerleader.

comparing our coach to arguably the best coach in nfl history is also unfair imo

Some people hate Dak, but most Dak bathers are Dez fans who can't admit his is a has been so they blame Dak rather than Dez. They are some nasty people. Nasty.

For his entire career?

I guess a franchise record 13 Pro Bowlers on that 2007 playoff team doesn't count? Or how about the 2014 playoff team? Not competent teams?

Dak is the QB. No other reason he recieves more bashing than the other crappy players.

We bashed Merideth, Morton, Danny and Romo who were all good QB’s .

It’s always about winning when your the QB. And for the Cowboys it’s about winning championships.
So Romo is another Danny White?

Wait a second...

Danny White took the Cowboys to 3 straight NFC Championship Games. So that means Romo is below Danny White, right?

I have been reluctant to join the Dak bandwagon because he certainly has his passing flaws and QB mechanics. Most of us who evaluate him game by game don't really see a Rogers, Brees, or Brady on the horizon or in our future. That may be harsh but, we are going on 25 years without sniffing a championship and the cows are restless and ready to stampede. I hope Dak can improve enough to be very functional and with this collection of players, make a decent run. As long as we have this current coaching regime, I don't see us as a valid contender. Sorry guys!
