Something to this Kid (Hunter Luepke)

His running reminds me of Peyton hillis. Hope he can get his shoulder right and provide some short yardage work and a few plays here and there.

Pump the brakes. He's still rehabbing a shoulder he injured in November. That's per his own lips, told in a Fargo local TV interview just before the draft.

Better bet is that he's an IR candidate until further notice. Shoulder injuries for guys who like to collide as a matter of routine are naturally problematic.
Shoulders take 6 months with proper rehab. He has a chance to make non-rook minicamp and should be ready for TC.

Visions of sugarplums danced through their heads.

Think for a moment, almost every other player drafted, there was the "well that was in college" sentiment. But a fullback from North Dakota State, is supposed to be the savior on offense. And I love the "better than Zeke" comments. Maybe we all should wait and see if he makes the team before placing him in the Ring of Honor.

I like what I see but the step up in competition is what gives me pause.

The guy is 235lbs and ran a 4.56 though. Great hands and agile. A lot to like from this guy...

I think he will be good. I am excited to see what he does. TC should be a lot of fun.

He will be a legit offensive weapon in the mold of ex-Cowboy fullback Richie Anderson .

I think Mike couldn't resist a guy in his old green bay colors. As long as they use him. Hated wasting a roster spot on a fb to get 1 play a game.

why did we give this guy 200k if he is going straight to IR?

Listened to an interview with the kid. He is married, still rehabbing from the shoulder injury.

I would think he should be ok by the end of the month since the injury happened in November.

He sees himself as a fullback with the ability to cause match up issues. He has special teams experience as well.

I like these type of comps.
HL seems more like a big TB, not so much a FB. I haven't seen his blocking, but if he can block it may be a wrap for RB3 or Sean McKeon.

A shoulder injury at his position is concerning.

Had some pretty damn good catches. But he's going against scrubs. Like how Wilt Chamberlain was back in his time going up against mostly 6'8" unathletic centers who look like me. People saying he's better than Zeke are being silly. For the price he is a better option but he's not better, IMO.
He also tore up arizona which is a power 5 school

Davis, Jones, Dowdle, Luepke. 4 RBs/2 spots.
This kid blows away current zeke.
whether he does or he doesn’t, it’s still better to churn than move backwards. This kid could come in and possibly bring a lot of different roles on offense and special teams. The new “short yardage specialist” will just be part of it.

For a position that’s deemed not as important as it once was, there sure is a lot of commotion in this board about it. Lol
