Sounds like Romo is pretty serious about trying to suit up this Sunday

If he is healthy enough to play arz why would he not be healthy enough to play the jags? His playing status really depends on his ability to move around and throw. If he can do that he will play if not he will sit and look to the following week to get back out there.

hey, its not me saying play him this week then sit him next week. i personally think that idea is moronic.

Romo's new uni, just slap a 9 on the front of that bad boy.

And he's still a more mobile QB than Tom Brady.

It's pretty clear that the guy is going to play.

And where's all this Weeden love coming from? He looked good in a game in the preseason, too, then came back to earth.

Way to mischaracterize the situation. He is better than a hurt Romo, and it's better to play him than it is to get Romo further hurt.

He was pretty serious about going back in the game Monday night too. How did that work out?

The cult of stupidity . .... If he is cleared by the cowed medical staff, he is our best chance to win.

My concern is with all that added weight to protect a bruise. That additional weight has to have a toll on his discs.

If I'm Candice, I'm worried. I applaud Romo for his efforts, tho.

And @Idgit it's not really about weeden love, it's more that for long term reasons, you want Romo closer to 100% than the 50% he will probably be on Sunday. So with that said, I prefer Weeden for a game or two.

Yeah, the google-eyed, "hubbida - hubbida" version of Romo we surely don't need.

Losing to Jacksonville with our backup is unfathomable. Kinda like losing to the eventual 2 and 14 Rams in 2008, with Brad Johnson.

The Cowboys would miss the post season by one win, after starting 5-3 in their first eight games. I think it's a mistake to count the Jags as a win.

The similarities are unnerving, except that Weeden is much better than that version of Brad Johnson.

If we cant beat the freaking Jags with Weeden at QB, season is done.

You don't come back from losing to the Jags.

CLE beat PIT by 21 and the next week lost to JAX by 18. It's a crazy league sometimes.

We have to keep pace with Philly and losing to Jacksonville would be a double whammy because not only would we add another loss in the standings, but Jacksonville is a common opponent that Philly already beat.

As I was telling my son Monday night sometimes this guy has more guts and pride than he has brains sometimes.

The guy is tough as they come. If he's able to play, at all, he's going to play.

and THAT is why it should be up to the HC to make the call and if he goes back in then that IS ON THE HC.

The only way Romo won't insist on playing is if they lock him in the broom closet. Even then, he'd try to escape. Jerry and Garrett could keep him from starting if they wanted to -- obviously, that's not the case, though. They are giving him more leverage than they should for him to be at his best. If he's allowed to play, I doubt Romo is so incredibly gifted that he will be able to operate effectively when he's that physically limited. I think they're taking way too great a risk of getting Romo out of the lineup for the remainder of the year. Sorry, but it's just not realistic.
