Hilarious. Now everybody is on AD's jock because he showed so well last year. I remember most of you would not even consider the guy coming out of OU because he didn't show so well and he was always HURT. He runs too physical, he won't last a down you said.

Now look at you.

I bet you have AD Christmas stockings.

I'm certain that if we were to go back and review, this could apply to almost any poster. There are always players that your just wrong about.

Having said that, I agree with the previous poster. DMac is not Peterson. JMO.

Who wouldn't be on his jock after last year? He's a stud.

And this fall will come the "I told you so". Its really hard to evaluate RBs and project their play in the NFL. Some are easier than others of course, as Reggie Bush should have been obivous really, but projecting isn't an exact science or there wouldn't be the high amount of busts every year.

If we don't move up to get DMac, will we be looking back kicking ourselves or thanking our lucky stars. Well we could talk about that all day, but one thing is true, he has proved to be a high quality back in a strong conference. He does have a rare combination of skills that makes it hard to compare him to anyone in the NFL.

The Bush comparison isn't even close to being true if you have ever actually seen DMac play. DMac plays with much more strength and body lean than Bush would ever wish to have. But the real question is will he have a star on his helmet, and really that all comes down to is if the deal is right for us to get him.

One thing is true, we either need to pay Barber and draft a RB lower in the draft or draft a replacement feature back (DMac, Mendenhall, maybe Stewart) and let Barber walk. Anything inbetween those two situations isn't a smart strategy.

I'm not worried at all about MBIII. He belongs to the Dallas Cowboys...he isn't going anywhere this year or the next year unless we want him to.

This is just his agent doing what MBIII is paying him to do.

It will be interesting to see you try and produce these quotes from people in this thread.

We'll wait.

I never thought that AD would amount to much on the gridiron. He was a good basketball player, though.

Auhh yes....... Another Golden Domer. AD could score in the low post. No question about that.

Does anyone remember who he ended his NBA career with?

The Cesspool in Wisconson, originally named Millioke by the Native Americans.

Geeeesh..........always someone with their hand out

Barber is a far less proven commodity than McGahee as he has only started about 3 games.

I say move him this year and get a 1st rounder. Then draft a couple of RBs.

We can't go into the season with 2 rookie RBs.

Romo would get SLAUGHTERED when they try to pick up blitz packages.

If we had to go into the season with two rookie RBs, I'd say that it would have to be Ray Rice that we took in the upcoming draft. My second choice would probably Forte.

You are covering your bases. But after researching I did find some really funny things some of our folks said here regarding Peterson coming out.

This from Catch17

He can't stay on the field.

Also he is probably the dumbest runner i've ever seen. He just makes it on pure talent alone.

He is raw raw raw and has a lot of work to do.

I wouldn't take him if he fell to us at 22.

This from Rack (sorry Rack)

Wow. You must have learned a thing or two cuz we agree a lot more nowadays. :D

I've said for awhile now that Peterson is overrated (no one wants to hear it though). He IS a good runner, just not the "elite" runner people make him out to be. I wouldn't use a first on him cuz we already have a runner of his style and he's been hurt every one of his college seasons.

I'd rather us take a shifty/elusive type RB. We've got a Bulldozer (MBIII), now we need an elusive RB that will actually USE his elusiveness.

This from dbair1967

he isnt one of the greatest RB talents of the last decade

in fact he looked pretty ordinary against mighty Boise the other night...

David

This from Biggems

my best friend has a hard on for AD....i cant stand the guy....

He is an injury waiting to happen....my friend disagrees....

IMO, we should go after Michael Bush IF we choose a RB on the first day.......but I believe I just read that he is going back to school....not sure

More from Catch17

Maybe you just don't know what your talking about and I do?

I understand the type of talent Peterson has. Anyone with 2 eyes can see it.

I just dont like how he runs.

I know this sounds like an old Grandma saying but he runs like a chicken with his head cut off. He has no discipline when he runs.

Also he runs very high and hes about 6'2. Hes shown every year that he will find a way to get hurt.

His style of running mixed with his height will get his leg broke in this league.

I don't deny the talent im just not sold on his football smarts.

Also he may have the worst hands i've ever seen.

Talented but raw.

This from ThreeSportsStar80 (no surprise)

No thanks Peterson can't seem to stay healthy, I wonder about his conditioning/work ethic in the offseason. I wouldn't give anything up for him but if should happen to fall to 23, which I seriously doubt then no question I'd take him.

Funny research looking though all of those threads. Ill go through more of the old archives when I get home. Im at the office atm. Some of us have to work.

Can you find what I said about Peterson?

I believe you stated that he was a punk and he would fail at the NFL level. Might not be word for word, though.

It has nothing to do with covering bases. It has to do with your amusement at people in this thread fawning over Peterson. If you weren't referring to people in this thread, well then it was just a pointless comment you made. If you were referring to people in this thread, then the only relevant comments you can find will be from people in this thread.

Didn't Indy win the SB with Addai as a rookie RB after they let Edge walk in FA.

We've got to be a bit selective about who we give big contracts to so long as there is a salary cap in place. Barber is replaceable. If we aren't signing him long-term, I'd like to trade him this year for a first.

Unfortunately, RB is a position of strength for the Dolphins with Ronnie Brown as Tuna would have been a pretty good trade partner at pick 32.
