HE DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH JUICE
Even though I should be used to this it's really frustrating to see the lack of effort to improving this team in the offseason.
Here we have a superstar player, the kind of skill position upgrade this QB needs, practically begging for the Cowboys to come get him.
The money? He'll work with you. He isn't looking to get paid.
The reported price? A 2nd round pick. To add one of the top receiving weapons in the game.
Too much? We have to hold onto those draft picks? Especially one that high? Let's take a look at what the Cowboys have done with their 2nd round picks over the last 15 years. Even with the great and almighty Will McClay.
Is there a player on that list better than Hopkins? I guess you could argue Lee, Lawrence and Diggs (I think he's better than all of them) but the fact is their usual return on a 2nd round investment pales in comparison to the instant impact Hopkins would provide in a supposed all in season.
He would make the QB better. Isn't that the most important objective this offseason so we don't have a 49ers part 3?
How could they possibly, even these colossal idiots, not be interested in this? Why am I reading a report like this from a legit team source?
It's an insult to the fans. It's why my blood boils every time we re-sign an old member of the band. Here's an actual real upgrade that can win you those playoff games, someone who can potentially change things and break this cycle of losing and we make no effort to make it happen. We're busy looking for bargains, not serious about winning.
But I guess this is what happens when you have a front office that chooses Leighton Vander Esch over Bobby Wagner.
Meet the new season. Same as the last season.

It's not even close.Hopkins is a better WR than OBJ
Then one of two things will happen...............he either gets hurt again or he goes off on Dak after about 6 passes in a row sail 10 feet over his head and two of them get picked off. We're going to get OBJ and we're going to like it.
They need to realize that no GM is as stupid as them to give up a 5th for a WR like Hopkins. But Stephen Jones is waiting for Arizona to offer up Hopkins for a 5th, just because he and Jerry was stupid enough to give up Amari for a 5th.
Dak isn't gonna mess up his money train. Honestly, that's why I like Micah much better as a team leader. But we know Dak won't do that. Dak isn't built like that. Dak will remain silent and collect his pay check because he doesn't care
So they think Lamb and Gallup the gimp are going to get it done?Belt says cowboys aren’t as interested in Hopkins as Hopkins is in dallas
Says Dallas will not trade a 1 or 2 and probably not even a 3 for Hopkins
I wouldn’t be comparing Brady a QB with DeAndre Hopkins a WR. Big difference between the Goat and a WR who’s missed games the past two seasons. Brady was coming off three 4000 yard seasons when he left New England. The Pats weren’t looking to get rid of him. He made the decision to leave.Good points but Brady was on the downside of his career but the Bucs were able to get a Lombardi out of it.
at this point, I’m willing to take the risk on him.
Amari Cooper is a better wide receiver then OBJ is as well and we all saw what the Cowboys decided to do with him.Hopkins is a better WR than OBJ
Fair enough, I was referring to the fact that DHop won’t be in his prime but will still be a major contributor from day 1 and this WR corp badly needs a player of his levelI wouldn’t be comparing Brady a QB with DeAndre Hopkins a WR. It’s always buyer beware any time you trade for an aging player whose numbers are dwindling and they’re missing games. The Cardinals are looking to move on because they obviously see some decline but they’re probably looking for a premium draft pick for him.Fair enough, I was referring to the fact that DHop won’t be in his prime but will still be a major contributor from day 1 and this WR corp badly needs a player of his level
Other than this, the main thing is what we would have to give up in draft compensation to get him
