The problem with that is they drafted a back up, not a starter.... it would be foolish to think that a reach in the fourth round, who played WLB in College is going to take over as the MLB and be a success. I would rather take my chance with Carter in the middle and have open auditions with the rest of the linebackers on the weakside. I would explore bringing in two veterans who have actually played and made the calls and adjustments in this type of defense, and keep the better of the two after training camp. Angerer, for example played and called this type of defense before becoming expendable when Indy changed to the 3-4.
Don't you know. Here's one for everyone who needs a super avatar to repel annoying members.
I'm talking to the ones that are already giving up on the season.
Also, if you have Rowdy as your avatar I'm not going to take you seriously.
I rarely acknowledge members that can't change the default avatar.
Gold star for you.

As much as the Sean Lees' heart wants to play in the NFL, you're dead on with his body not up to NFL stuff. Coaches always talk about how much of a gym rat the kid is. Working out creates tiny tears in muscle fiber, and when given a chance to heal, the fibers build up. But without recovery, you won't see those changes in tone or strength. He should of taken a few days off before going on the field if that was the case.
You're on the same path as the point I've been making. Every time I see Lee without pads, he looks like a 15 year old kid with 60 lbs of artificial muscle weight. I don't mean I think he took steroids. I just mean he looks way too big for what his body was supposed to be. If he never played football, he would probably weigh 165-175 naturally right now. Maybe he has just been unlucky, but I think his body is simply rejecting the last 10 years of overtraining in the weight room and the pounding/sudden change of direction movements that go with playing football. I really like him and it totally sucks that he arrarently will not be having a stellar NFL career. God gave him the heart and mind for it but not the body. He did everything he possibly could to turn his body into an NFL body, but it seems it keeps rejecting those efforts.
I'm sure him being acknowledged by you is the highlight of his day. It's what we all strive for around here, really.

"@Spags52: Spoke with Sean Lee. Torn ACL left knee and a little miniscus. Knew it as soon as it happened. surgery in a couple of weeks. Out for season."
Know what peeps? I'll be wearing my Lee jersey this year, regardless!
Love,
Fletch
I disagree, Jobberone.
Sean Lee appears to be breaking down and I don't think it (his health) will ever get better until he stops playing. Someone else already mentioned it but his frame does not seem to be a good fit for the mass he carries and he is aging rapidly. He reminds me of Dat Nguyen.
No trades in this years draft.....
CJ Mosley
Jernigan or Attachou or Ealy
Keenan Martin or Trai Turner or Gabe Jackson
etc
instead of
Martin
Lawrence
etc
hindsite = 20-20 = not valid....I get that
There's no way of knowing that. He's had more than his share of problems but torn ACLs are not wear and tear items. Each injury is a separate instance. These comments about him breaking down etc are not medically sound. They often use cadaver or tendon transplant to repair these injuries so you can't even make the argument some are due to 'weak' tissues.
I have had way too much free time today.
