You may be able to gingerly walk on it, but you aren't going to play football with it. Injuries depend on the toughness of the person too. Some people walk away from things that other people need the stretcher for. Did anyone even know JJ broke his shoulder during the Cleveland game until the next day?

ACL tears, specifically, may make the knee sore but won't necessarily prevent you from putting weight on it or even jogging. It is a stabilizing ligament. The good news is that its probably not one of the many knee injuries that you can't walk on.

have you torn your ACL? different degrees of tearing you know......for me I couldn't stand because the pain was very intense....

If a bubble offensive player, most likely a lineman were to get cut today, I think we could all guess who rolled up on Spears' leg.

accidents happen. there shouldn't be any repercussions for the lineman or linemen in question. regardless of their status with the team.

Although the news of Spears injury is disheartening, I have to say this thread is quite amusing.

The internet tough guy bravado offering up bets, the apparent lack of knowledge of players' basic positions, the sky is falling, the overreaction about switching defenses...it runs the gamut.

I hate to see an injury, especially to a guy I was excited about in Spears, but DE is a position with some serious depth. Ellis, Canty, Coleman, Ratliff and Brooks are all playing 3-4 DE. Glover could easily play it in a pinch. Heck, Carson could probably play some 3-4 end if need be.

Anyway, I am hoping for the best, I'd still rather have Spears out there, but this is far from an injury that would cripple the team.

I thinks it not good for us to have 'em get hurt this early. I hate the Commanders and wish they get hurt bad now too. They laugh at Extreme and wish us bad thoughts but they lose every year and have bad money grubber for an owner who spend like a drunk sailer on payday and has nothing to show for it but losses.

You know I think I've heard BP say that Gurode is very smart. His mental breakdowns have been related to his need to be a perfectionist. So basically, he's been thinking too much and been less instinctive.
