How's Merriman looking now? I'm kidding, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about it.

he did put weight on his knee but if you can remember back to last year when pete hunter tore his ACL he walked off the field with a little help then he was doing some kind of running in place while he was walkin back to the locker room

If you go to DC.com and watch the TC update it shows him with little help limping off the field. He did put weight on it, so maybe they are just being careful. :)
Yeah I noticed that as well. I'm hoping he hyper extended it. but then again T.O. walked off the field last year with a fracture to his lower leg. I don't think its going to be as bad as it appears I'm sure it hurt like hell but there has been no reports of hearing a poping sound when it happened. So I think he will miss a week or so and be fine....

Everyone better put Nors on the 'I' list if that player was Gurode. :D

Yep. As it is, he's driven to distraction that one of his crucial 3-4 peices may be sidelined for the year.

We still don't have official word yet though, so maybe it'll end up just being a 2 or 3 week thingy.

Somewhere, Nors is no doubt sacrificing a goat to the football gods in order to appease them and let them spare Marcus' season.

Unfortunately, that doesn't really mean anything. When I tore my ACL and meniscus last year I walked off the field, the only thing definite answers come from an MRI.

Carted off my butt!! Thanks for the tip on going to DC.com for the update. He walks off! He is limping in pain, but walking on his own none the less.

Obviously I hope it's not serious. But remember Jamal Anderson walked up and down the tunnel after being carted off with a torn ACL. I think that was back in '98 or '99 on MNF....

More likely he's sacrificing Al Singleton.

Just have to wait and see what the doctors have to say and go from there. I would hate to lose Spears for the season but if that is the case then the team just deals with it and keep on working. Nothing else you can do

I dont know hes a big guy all these other guys your comparing hunter and anderson are smaller. Spears is a big guy if his acl was torn i doubt he could put alot of weight on it.

I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

It is a shame and it probably was some non-entity that won't make the team that injured him.

From what I can see on the video, I think he knee might be ok. If you completely tear your ACl, then you can't extend your leg on your own power. He clearly does so as you watch him walk off. So at worst I think it's a partial tear or sprain, or perhaps MCL damage. I'm no doctor, I just play one on the internet.

ACL tears, specifically, may make the knee sore but won't necessarily prevent you from putting weight on it or even jogging. It is a stabilizing ligament. The good news is that its probably not one of the many knee injuries that you can't walk on.

I tore those same two ligaments and couldn't walk! My knee was like a spaghetti noodle! It wobbled something terrible!!! The pain was awful!

Agreed. I tore mine playing basketball and could walk to the truck and into the hospital. I never would have thought it was my ACL. The MRI will tell, don't let the walking fool you.

If a bubble offensive player, most likely a lineman were to get cut today, I think we could all guess who rolled up on Spears' leg.
