Truly, all the position swapping rumors are tired. Allen isn't playing RT and Glover isn't gonna play DE. He will have his plate full playing NT. Tackle is his natural position... and he's good at it. He's also the only depth we have at it besides Ferguson and a mediocre Carson.

You do realize it has been reported that Glover has been working at DE in TC on occasion, right?

I just saw this on DC.com.

Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells and owner Jerry Jones just lost one of their first-round draft choices for the season after signing him to a five-year, $9.35-million deal with $6.7 million in guarantees just six days ago. That's a huge loss for a team trying to switch to a 3-4 defense because Spears had the versatility to play defensive end or slide over to the nose. He was expected to win the starting job at left end.

I'm listening to the quick on-target responses, the sense of humour, the syntax, vocabulary, and....I'm stunned. The kid's about the best interview on the entire team..a minimum of platitudes, instant come back. And sincere.

After months of Nors' "mental capacity" posts, I was expecting to hear Billy Bob Thornton in Sling Blade.

LOL

ROFLMAO!

Oh that's good!

Like Nors has any freaking room to talk!

I was watching "kid's week" on Jeopardy not long ago and I was thinking I know one adult these kids could beat **** out off on this program.

Spears could have contributed this year. If he's really out for the season, this is a setback, you can downplay it all you want. Nobody is claiming the 'sky is falling', but losing a first round pick is not something you just shrug off.

It's a good thing we had 2 first rounds picks then :)

Parcells did say after the draft that getting Spears at #20 was key to converting to the 3-4.

I agree, if he's gone we should see alot more 4-3

Shhh! If Nors hears any of this it's gonna be over :)

I think we are still going to see both defenses played, this injury sucks but I don't think it changes much as far as running both 3-4 and 4-3. Parcells is still going to want Ware out there rushing from the outside backer position. Coleman according to reports has looked good as well playing the DE spot. I still think the intent will be to give the offenses different looks

Food for thought:

If the 3-4, our defense getting better, and the season rests on the injury of a rookie, where were we really before he got hurt?

Perspective people.;)

Yeah saw that to.

If his knee really did "jiggle" seriously then it may be worse than ever.

I had a friend who was in a car accident drunk and they had to use the jaws of life to get himn out a his dodge. Anyways his knee did the jiggle thing too and they ended up having to amputate it later on because it was crushed bad.

Not saying Spears is that bad off but jiggling around sideways and loose with no feeling isn't a good thing when the doctor has to decide what to do next.

I don't think this changes Parcells plan for the defense

OK - Let's just step back for a minute and calm down. We shouldn't even be talking about amputation at this point.

No, I didn't see that, who reported it?

Slap me and call me Sally if you see Glover take more than 2-3 snaps at DE in a regular season game.

Yeah, it says for the season... but I'm not convinced until I see a full article instead of a little blurb. Could be that the columnist got carried away with speculation.

True.

I think amputation is going to be the answer.
