Spears Injured

Doesn't sound like too good of news, but we knew someone would get injured this year. He won't be the last either.

Hopefully it will be something that he can recover from in 3-6 months and not an ACL though it doesn't look promising at this point.

Ugh. I'm just about tired of this injury bug that always hits the second pick.

It's comforting to know that Coleman and Brooks are doing better than last year, but still dissapointing to see yet another Cowboys rookie (and who are we fooling-he WAS going to be a big part of this years defense) lose his first year (likely) in the NFL.

It sets them back and it sets the team back. Tired of it. Sick of it. Why's it always guys like Spears and not Lynn Scott???!?!?!?!?!?

Stop the panic and talk of Glover starting at DE....sheesh...we may have more depth at DL this year than we've ever had.

Glover will be a NT...he'll definitely be at NT in passing situations...he may line up at DE on occasion, but we still have Ellis, Coleman, Canty, and Ratliff at DE...Usually only the top 3 get much playing time anyway.

Frankly, I'd be more upset if this injury was to a veteran like Ellis or Glover....we can compensate for an injury to a rookie.

For football sake, let's hope he recovers soon and can contribute sometime in the future.

I won't get too excited until I hear the final results, and even then, there is nothing we can do about it, so we carry on.

Oh no! Not good news. Time for Coleman and Ratliff to step up. Luckily they both look good so far.

Ratliff did play some DE in college so that's a plus. Of course he also played TE and his last year was at DT. At least it's early enough for him to get some reps there if need be.

Glover can play some there as well. No one said he had to take every snap there, but that doesn't mean he can't rotate in. If he says he can play there, that will have to be good enough for us.

It could also be that the there will be less of an emphasis on the 3-4 because of this. I doubt think it will be scrapped by any means, but we could end up with a 4-3 base D again for now.

This stinks, but that's the way it runs in the NFL. No guarantees.

Exactly Tuna...we fans put way too much emphasis on rookies...rookies are going to make you into a good team 2,3,4 years from now...if you're counting on them turning your team around in year 1, you're not paying attention to history.

I'm sure everyone at Valley Ranch is concerned, but frankly, I'll bet most of the veterans won't lose any sleep over it or think their season just went down the tubes, like in Miami with Williams walking out last year.
