Spears Injured

According to the video, he walked off the field to the edge of the field then carted the rest of the way. You can see him doing it.

Well....We knew injuries would happen...lets hope we don't get anymore season ending injuries.

Spears will be back stronger then ever. Its time for our depth at DE to pick it up.....from reports....Coleman has had a strong TC.....we will see alot of 4-3 in the nickel defense this year with Ware playing that RDE position.

Could be worse.....like losing our starting QB,RB, or WR.....we have no experience back there.

That's it. The season's over. Forfeit all the games. The team is going 0-16 because a rookie went down. Parcells sucks. He can't draft. He should have known the kid would get hurt. He's lost control of the team. It's the end of the world as we know it. We're the only team who's had a player injured. Parcells is an idiot. He only brings in his old guys.

Heheheheh, good one. Actually, though there was a guy at the DMN forum who said Johnson was a bad pick because he got injured.

Exactly Tuna...we fans put way too much emphasis on rookies...rookies are going to make you into a good team 2,3,4 years from now...if you're counting on them turning your team around in year 1, you're not paying attention to history.

I'm sure everyone at Valley Ranch is concerned, but frankly, I'll bet most of the veterans won't lose any sleep over it or think their season just went down the tubes, like in Miami with Williams walking out last year.

Well, Parcells admitted he probably wouldn't have switched to a 3-4 if not for Spears and Ware in the draft, so I'd say that's a huge part of the team rookie or not, if an entire defensive change is depending on these rookies.

Spears could have contributed this year. If he's really out for the season, this is a setback, you can downplay it all you want. Nobody is claiming the 'sky is falling', but losing a first round pick is not something you just shrug off.

If you're talking career ending, then I'm with you, but for this year....I say future, smuture, Ellis, as a veteran, is more valuable to us this year than Spears....who knows, maybe we'll see them both play for a number of years yet.

All we can do is hope for the best at this stage.

I hope the knee brace might have made the difference between a season ending injury and a few weeks on the sidelines.

BTW, where's the video?

NM, I found it. That's not very telling.

Look at the video on cowboys.com. He was limping but still that doesn't tell anything. Think he was making his way to the cart or something.

OH THAT WAS GOOD!

Glad to see some here share my twisted sense of humor!

Of course the tears are running, you should be crying. Crying that this albatross of a team and its hitler like dictator Bill Parcells have been allowed to hurt people for so long. Its time for a revolution

DOWN WITH THE COWBOYS

Many players have walked off the field with ACL tears :(

damn...can't we just restart todays practice without saving to the memory card...?

Just watched the video. He does walk off the field. Hopefully that means its not serious.

I'll sign. Its time for some good old 1960 style political discourse. Lets go to Valley ranch for a sit in. I will go to jail for this movement I am not afraid!

Walking off the field is a decent sign, but, Yes, players can walk off the field with torn ligaments.

"Spears was the key to the draft. The Cowboys couldn't switch to the 3-4 without him."

Who said that?
I was thinking about that also. I remember that statement. Seems like a journalist was quoting Jones on that. I'm bummed. I was one of the folks who was actually expecting more out of Spears this year than Ware. The guy is a monster.

Haha. Football forums are so predictable.

There's always going to be people who overreact. And then there's always people who overreact to people who aren't overreacting.

Example: One person may say, "Spears is hurt--this is dissapointing"
Then the person who actually is overreacting thinking that the other guy is overreacting (but isn't) does the typical-'sky is falling' sarcasm-'0-16-1st pick in the draft' thingy.

Tired. Spears was hurt. This is a setback for him personally and for the future of the defense. People have a right to be upset.

Stop acting as though people are wrong to be upset in this situation please. Many of us had high hopes for Spears and this is a tremendous blow.

TO was walking better than spears last year when roy broke his leg. So there is no telling what the injury is.
