With Spears not being Tendered my thinking is Dallas is hoping he gets snatched by someone. I'm thinking the way it works if they loose him than they can sign a Free Agent other than the one they can for 5.5 mil.

I lost track of 6 hours. I had no idea it was already past midnight on the East Coast.

lol overreact much? all the news of who has been tendered is slowly coming out... Still haven't had Hatcher-Sensabaugh-Spears & I am sure all 3 will be tendered and you will know about it shortly

You mean Jerry still has time to tender Spears?

Premature evaluation strikes again.

Most likely Dallas is trying to work out a deal with him before the deadline or still deciding what tender to offer. I doubt that he won't be tendered.

Gerald Sensabaugh tendered at second round by Cowboys, others are in

We have filled you in on Miles Austin, Sam Hurd, Stephen Bowen and Cory Procter so far on the qualifying offers.

Here's the rest:

Jason Hatcher - second-round tender, $1.759 million
Pat McQuistan - original draft pick, $1.176 million
* - Gerald Sensabaugh - second-round tender, $1.809
Junior Siavii - original draft pick, $1.101 million
** - Marcus Spears - original draft pick, $1.226 million
Shaun Suisham - not tendered
Pat Watkins - orginal draft pick, $1.176 million

* - Sensabaugh's second round tender should be worth $1.815 million.

** - If a team signs Spears, then the Cowboys could receive only a second-round pick in return despite the fact that Spears was a first rounder in 2005.

I thought Sensabaugh and Spears would have received the first-round tenders worth $2.621 million. Not surprisingly Shaun Suisham was not tendered, making him a free agent.

We're still trying to figure out Duke Preston's situation.

Spears tendered as Original Draft pick. Dallas would receive a 2nd rounder for him.

Thread fail.

The Cowboys love working against the clock because the Joneses feel it's more productive. I think with Spears and Sensabaugh, especially, the Cowboys might be trying to get more done than just a tender.

OK, so I was wrong.

Hatcher received a more expensive tender than Spears? Wow.

What kind of sense does this make? If it's original draft pick wth isn't it a first rounder we'd receive????

Guess that shows Dallas isn't too worried about losing these guys.

Watkins would cost a fifth, and McQuistan just a seventh. Of course, I'm not sure either is worth that much.

Why would they just let him walk away? Not tendering him at all wouldnt make very much sense.

That sounds a lot more reasonable.

i doubt any team would give a 5th for Watkins or even a 7th for McQ.

i think virtually all our guys will be intact until we decide to move on with or without them.

Actually he doesn't.

It had to be in earlier today.

I don't know. A 3-4 team, especially one that doesn't allow its linemen to play one-gap like ours, might see going after Spears as a better option than trying to get a DE in the second round. He's been healthy and has become really solid against the run.

Sensabaugh also has a good enough season that some team might be more willing to risk a late second-round pick on him than take an unproven safety in the draft. His character concerns before he came to Dallas might limit the interest, though.
