Its not an official NCAA Championship- so the NCAA does not recognize it. I do not know why that is hard for you to understand. We are talking about just about the most bureaucratic semi-private organization in the world; the the only one that gives the EPA and the IRS a run for its (and our) money.

It's not jsut that, it's the whole "holier than thou" attitude they have towards other schools, especially towards A&M whom they view as their rival.

I'm not quite sure how this is any different than A&M fans.

Of course not

An excerpt from little known bylaw rule 12.3.1.xi states that all rules governed herein will not be applicable to Notre Dame.

True story

You beat me to it. If this were Texas, USC, Miami, FSU, the whole team would be on probation for ten years.

If it's Notre Dame, we won't hear another thing about it other than "Notre Dame cleared of any wrong doing".

I cant speak for everyone, but myself and all the people I know at A&M view our tradition and pagentry as superior to other schools, but we dont view ourselves as superior people to anyone but the homoerotic pansies from Austin  :p:

It doesnt have to be an official NCAA championship to be recognized by the NCAA. College football is still goverened by the NCAA, they just arent awarded titles by the NCAA.

I have a hard time believing there are so many stupid people on this planet sometimes. It's nice to know many people share the same beliefs as Klansmen in their unadulterated hatred for a Catholic University.....They wouldn't be where they are if not for special treatment....sound familiar?

From a financial standpoint, Notre Dame's football independence hurts the NCAA as a whole. ND eliminates one network (NBC) from entering the bidding wars for broadcast rights, keeping those rights lower, so could someone explain to me who benefits by giving ND "special treatment"? Especially considering the NCAA is a group of member institutions and typically only five of them get a home ND game every year and most of those have no trouble selling out even when ND isn't in town.

You're just upset that ND is back on the map, will challenge for the National Title this year and are going to be pre-season top 5 or 10 while A & M will battle to reach .500 in the Big XII.

Nice out of conference schedule you have there as well.

The Citadel
UL Lafayette
Army
La Tech

What a joke?
It could be worse, you could live in College Station and hear how they are National Championship contenders after they go 4-0 next year.:lmao2:

Trust me, no one on this campus thinks we will even win 8 games. There is a prove it to me kind of attitude at this point in BCS.

And A&M beat the mighty 1988 Domers in the Cotton Bowl, Heisman winner Tim Brown and all.
One of the funniest things I've ever seen on a football field was a&m taking Tim Brown's towel away from him and watching him cry like a little girl.

1988-2000 more wins then ND had in that time? Really. Like to see the numbers. Though of course A & M were playing patsies a lot of the time.
By the way- any NC in that time period? No? oh, so sorry.
well let's not get carried away, it's not like Notre Dame wasn't playing the Coast Guard twice a year back then.

Coast Guard twice a year? To start with WHEN?
And remember something: during war time the academies had the pick of the best players around. During WW2 Great Lakes Training Center had over 50 former college all americans on their team at one time or another.

HH I've lived in College Station longer than you've been alive. There is no doubt a&m fans will be talking noise after they go 4-0 next year. No doubt. I already hear at work every day how Texas has no chance against a&m next year because VY is gone.

I find it really hard to belive that with so many fans on this board who think Weis is such a great coach -- enough so that a majority want him to replace Bill Parcells -- that they would think he'd be stupid enough to do this.

Well neither do me and my buddies, but that doesn't mean there aren't an amazing amount of elitist *******s at A&M (like there are everywhere) who believe themselves superior simply because they go to TAMU.
