Sigh....

Because Miller is all world right??

He's done well with the opportunities he's received and continues to improve.

There's no guarantees Elliot isn't the next Trent Richardson. He was "all world" coming out too.

Over pay for Miller... or Draft the best rated blocking RB to ever come out on the College level, help preserve Romos' health..

Secure Elliot who is also a better runner with vision, plus one cut quickness in an implemented zone scheme, at the Rookie pay scale for 4 years.

IMO Miller would be smart to sign a 2 year deal with us. He would be 26 when it ends and 27 when he starts playing on a 3rd contract. If he can total 3,000 rushing yards those two years in Dallas he should be able to cash in again in 2018.

I'm sure he would like that...not that sure that Dallas would.

And a RB that has done actually.....nothing at that. But he's young and if he only had the carries, etc etc. If he's so great why hasn't Miami taken the reigns off is my question.

I'm asking myself the same questions. He's essentially done nothing in this league. I get why the Texans are looking at him. They need a running game and with their defense......that will help them since they don't have a quarterback. But with our offensive line....why wouldn't you just draft a guy?

There aren't that many Lamar Miller's in terms of HR threat....4.4 40 at his combine. I'd love to have him in Dallas and avoid drafting a RB, but we aren't going to pay him what he wants.

I agree. With a relatively strong RB class this year and other available FA RBs, this should be a buyer's market. He should not get prime money. If we can work something out at a good price, then he would be a solid signing. If not, draft an RB in rounds 3-5 and don't look back.

If we could do a trade down to 7 with SF and take him there, sign me up & him too. I'm all over that!

Because their coaches - all of whom have been fired - failed to use him. Taking a look at where all of those coaches are now is a clear indictment of what they did (and didn't do) in Miami.

That was a poke at Sydia. We were going back and forth as I want Henry bad! But in reality, Miller has proven squat Stash.

Doubt that next contract would come from us. And I dont think Dallas would mind a short term deal that gets him off tbe books around the time your offensive line becomed expensive

But that's discounting the fact that the Cowboys offered Murray $6 million per year last year to stay, isn't it?

Is that a fact?

And let's say it is true. The guy just ran for 1800 yards. I get it. But with Miller....he's had 1k yards ONCE and he barely made it over. I'm not saying he's not a great back but why are people coveting him like he is?

Do we want to pay him more than 5 million?
I don't think so....these RBs want to make their money while they can, but they aren't worth it....just draft a RB.

Where? What round? Who?

My guess on Miller is that we likely checked the parameters of a potential deal with his agent...found out
he wants big bucks...wished him well and pointed south to the Texans and every reporter now links him
with us.

don't forget: use the FOURTH PICK on Elliot. That's the biggest factor in Elliot vs. Miller.

Thank you. In miller's last game he had 3 touchdowns on 6 carries. Didn't run again all game. Figure that out.

The choice isn't between Miller and Zeke in my opinion, it's between Miller and whomever they can get in the 2-4 rounds at RB. It's pretty clear they have a $ and age threshold for the position. If the teams subscribes to the notion that a top 5 pick is someone who you want in your organization for the next 10 years then you'd have to pause at selecting a back at 4 given that you are more then likely not going to give them a 2nd contract unless they are the next coming of AP. Given that I would take Miller.

Just an offseason removed from letting a 26 year old NFL offensive player of the year walk because we didn't want to pay him 7 mil a year due to getting close to over the hill and our offensive line can turn any back into a star.

This offseason, SIGN THE 25 YEAR OLD MILLER WHO WANTS 6 MIL A YEAR BECAUSE HES A STUD!!

This is a prime example of the yearly fluctuation of organizational direction and philosophy that has us swimming in the toilet for 20 years.

It was hard to find carries with Csonka, Kiick, and Mercury Morris already on the roster?

The absolute worst way to build a franchise is to sign free agents, i.e. overpay mediocre players like they are good, good players like they are great. The Cowboys need to get to a point in the draft, where they have 2-3 holes. Every year they go into a draft with 8-9 holes on the roster. Its a never ending cycle with this GM, Front Office.

I want Miller! And I want to use that #4 pick on a quarterback I can't get anywhere else. No offense to Zeke!

I get ya but if they dont get miller i want zeke but would be thrilled with the miller/qb route as my top choice as well
