Don't want him use that money on defense

Thats a great idea, because without a strong RB our defense will be on the field a lot more than the offense.
I would prefer to draft Elliott, but if that is something they absolutely are not willing to do, then yes, please sign this guy.

True, but for whom? This free agency period is looking like a big fat dud as the top defensive players are pretty much accounted for already, at least the ones that would be significant.
Each and every year, it is getting less and less exciting as teams are not letting good talent walk out the door and those that do sign megadeals are doing it strictly where the cash is.
Well I wouldn't mind another dolphin Derrick Shelby. I think he could be a starter @ RDE. I also like Rodney Mcloed the safety from the Rams. He's very underrated and has been solid for a couple years.
If reports are true that we tried to trade for Demarco and now we are trying to sign Lamar Miller then i would think we would go after Elliott if we lose out on both Murray and Miller.
It doesn't look like we will be sitting on our hands this year as every RB worth having is taken away from us.
(I hope)
What is funny is that those two will probably follow the cash and get overpaid.
I agree with you completely, and I think Jerry alluded to this in his interview, saying he felt very comfortable about the options we had to upgrade the running back position based on what is available and where we are picking. He said he felt more comfortable about addressing running back than he did fixing the defense.
This to me meant Miller or Elliott, but that could be my personal bias jumping in.
He's signing with the texans
"too expensive" says Stephen.
He likes to say "too rich for us".
