see that is my problem with garrett. sure the team played hard but really garrett gave the team no chance to win. he could have changed the playbook and play to the teams strengths and run behind the online more and adjusted the passing game to fit the qbs we had last year. a better coach would have won atleast three games without romo. the defense played well in some of the losses but the offense was beyond sorry. I am sorry if some of you guys like garrett I think the guy is a joke.

I agree. The adjustments he made seemed to be to give Weeden zero leash and play ultra conservative. Which was fine at first but there was no other adjustment made after that plan was an obvious fail. Of course Weeden may have just sucked that bad.

LOL, you are actually supporting this piece of **** coach?

Name a team that would hire him above the position coach level.

Well iN the past I might agree with you, but SF hired chip kelley !! lol
If chip can get another HC job JG could too.

I might add that if they get rid of JG, at some point, do you think the jones boys will then hire a good
coach ??
There is no telling who they might put in charge.

Neither of us can speak for NFL front offices. Your bias is obvious. You don't even argue a single point I made about talent and instead double down on a baseless assumption.

Still apples to oranges - Kelly was a SUCCESSFUL HEAD COACH on the collegiate level. Garrett had no real coaching experience prior to being handed - not earning - his OC and subsequent HC position. Spin factories can try to push success here, but end of the day its about wins and losses and outside of the 12-4 aberration - which was a complete 180 from our Garrett crafted offensive philosophy to that point - I think the overwhelming tangible fact of his coaching tenure here is the consistent underperformance of the team and the franchise record-breaking ways this team has lost under his direction.

When we hired Garrett he was being recruited for head coaching job with the dolphins and the ravens too if i remember correctly. Point being the NFL respects the guy even if message board posters don't

RVING -- In Alfred Morris' short time with the Cowboys, the veteran running back has immediately taken notice of Jason Garrett's standard.

Morris said the Cowboys head coach praised the team after Wednesday's organized team activities because they practiced well.

That wasn't the case Tuesday. There were missed assignments and the tempo of practice did not meet his standard.

I am pretty sure Garrett was miffed and peeved.

Doesn't change a thing I said - no prior HC experience, much less success, so apples to oranges. In addtion, nothing done here has elevated him to be viewed as one of the "up and comers." Most national acclaim has come as Garrett being one the HC's on the "hot seat," although we who understand exactly how Garrett came to his current position (Jerry decision to pick and "train" his new HC) understand there is no real hot seat for Garrett. Your last sentence may have been applicable before he was hired here and created a track record, but I strongly disagree that is still the case.

Look at the roster his first three years. Guys like Cook, Kowalski, Dockery, the corpse of Kosier, Nagy, Livings, Conner, Butler, Brooking, Wynn, Everette, Allen, Sims, and Lawrence all started for those teams.

Having one or two week links like TWill and Church on the roster is bad enough but if 50% of your snaps are going to below replacement levela dn I don't care if prime Landry is out there, he isn't winning. Going 8-8 with that garbage was not a poor performance.
Garrett wasn't going to win in this thread. Fans who don't like him will find someway to turn every small story or report into something negative.

I like Garrett.

But he motivates his players and he has assistant coaches who are well regarded and want to work for him.

More than that I think he continues to work at his craft and improve every year.

No he isn't a top 5 coach. Then again there are only 5 of those and they don't come available.
