Red J/Coach Garrett needs to put his turkey neck out there to be cut on the chopping block and the entire team may or may not respond. The rest is up for interpretation.

The F.O. needs to realize players are motivated by the Head Coach, at times primarily because there are consequences for sed H.C., losing your job is a leverage tool Jason or any professional Coach could be hamstrung without.

Still apples to oranges - Kelly was a SUCCESSFUL HEAD COACH on the collegiate level. Garrett had no real coaching experience prior to being handed - not earning - his OC and subsequent HC position. Spin factories can try to push success here, but end of the day its about wins and losses and outside of the 12-4 aberration - which was a complete 180 from our Garrett crafted offensive philosophy to that point - I think the overwhelming tangible fact of his coaching tenure here is the consistent underperformance of the team and the franchise record-breaking ways this team has lost under his direction.

Yes but in the nfl chip didnt do too good, and what he did his last year was awful.
I agree with what you say about JG, but the jones boys are not going to hire the type of coach you want
them to.
For the next few years we are stuck with JG like it or not, and if he has another good season, he will
be here a long time, at least until Romo is gone.

I like Garrett.

But he motivates his players and he has assistant coaches who are well regarded and want to work for him.

More than that I think he continues to work at his craft and improve every year.

No he isn't a top 5 coach. Then again there are only 5 of those and they don't come available.

And a lot of times, good coaches suck in their first stint as an NFL head coach.

Garrett ' standard would have already gotten him fired on just about any other team than this one

Garrett has a playoff win. .......Marvin Lewis doesn't and he been coaching Cincy longer. He isn't fired

Also Garrett has been in the hunt every year but this past season

There are fans that like him?

Where have you been? There have been endless debates about Jason Garrett. The players, the staff, the management, and some of the fans love him. The majority of the fans do not because they think that if a team doesn't win enough, it has to be the coach. The reality is, when a team wins but doesn't win enough, there are lots of reasons why that doesn't happen.

I dont understand all the Garrett support on here. The excuses some of you guys have for him are endless it seems.

I don't know about excuses. He's made his share of mistakes, and he's been involved with some bad decisions. But as problems go on this team, the coaching staff is very far down on the list. I'm always surprised fans don't see that more clearly.

Let's look back at 2014 when we went 12-4, we did that with a GM that no other team would hire unless it's in marketing and with a HC that is ranked in the middle or lower half in the NFL. Now how impressive was 2014? Very.

I do like Alfred Morris. I hope things work out for him here.

I've said it before....the guy is impossible to not root for. He'll have to really stink it up in Dallas to not be a fan favorite.

I keep saying it, but the owner in Dallas makes this one of the toughest jobs in the league. Jerry does a lot of good things for the team, but then he undermines the staff, he let's the players come to him directly, he comments critically about coaches in the press, and he takes just about every risk he can come across in the hope of hitting the big one. In the zero sum game the league has setup, you're rewarded more for not making mistakes than you are for taking some of those risks. It makes it really difficult to build a real contender.

2014, everything broke right. In 2015, it just broke. Overall, the coaching has been 'good' to 'ok.' Like every single head coach ever, JG has made some mistakes. And it took him too long to assemble a decent staff. But we've got it together now. I don't want to see it broken apart again just to bring in some other guy to try and fail to rein in Jerry Jones.

Well iN the past I might agree with you, but SF hired chip kelley !! lol
If chip can get another HC job JG could too.

Chip is living off his reputation from college. Lets see what happens when he fails with the 49ers which he will.

When we hired Garrett he was being recruited for head coaching job with the dolphins and the ravens too if i remember correctly. Point being the NFL respects the guy even if message board posters don't

That was before the league caught up with him. I wonder if the Ravens regret hiring Harbaugh instead.

Yes but in the nfl chip didnt do too good, and what he did his last year was awful.

If Chip didn't do too good his last year going 6 and 9, what does that say about Garrett?

Chip Kelly has a .553 winning percentage in the NFL compared to Garrett's .511. But Kelly had to compete without a franchise QB and still won with Vick, Foles, Sanchez and Bradford.

Chip Kelly has been coaching since 1988 and worked his way up the college coaching ranks before going to the NFL while Garrett got his start as both a player and a coach thanks to his father's ties to the organization. Kelly was fired after his third season after posting 10 and 6 records his first two. When the Eagles demand more of their HC than the Dallas Cowboys, that's a sad commentary.

Kelly's system probably won't work in the NFL like it did in college. But as a coach, Garrett isn't in Kelly's area code and isn't fit to wash his jock.
